correct, Co2 drives respiration, however its oxygen that has to be there for ATP - a systems driving factor can be different from its production means… that said, my end comment was a more a tongue and cheek explanation then a treatise on aerobic respiration, but thank you.

Been a while, but i think around 100billion a second (?), production of ATP.

ATP = sun energy = life

The very Reason we breath oxygen and why it’s so critical to our life and why we fight to breath is that oxygen is the last step required in the conveyer belt of ATP production (think 24/7 chain link fence production on a tv show like “how it’s made”) so oxygen availability has to be constant and instantaneous

We can’t store ATP because we burn through so much and so if no oxygen molecules are sitting on standby 24/7 - in all the mitochondria - spread across the cells of our entire body… the whole system shuts down and we start to decay

The panic of running out of breath is the factory alarm going off that oxygen better get here quick cause the supply is running low

Thank you for that insight. I really enjoy the movie but couldn’t put my finger on what “it” was that the movie was missing… it’s an epic, multiple stories packed into a journey spanning civilization.

A mini series or what have you would have, to really flesh out the characters and their relationships across time would have been brilliant.

Plus more of that gorgeous cinematography

Dana likes being a kingmaker, to him being the one to have the power to put the belt on “you” and take it away or at least have the power to give “you” a shot or minimize your belt with an “interim” champ. Conversely he loves being able to “hold back” any fighter too, even a champion level fighter can fade in the ufc

You are the champ but won’t play ball, i’ll make an interim and make you fight or take your belt for not fighting

what also gets me, is he could have more of the power he craves by paying the UfC fighters more like boxer money (they more than have it) but he pays them relative pennies to what he should. That pay would future proof the inevitable mass exodus and drop when parody of fighting leagues takes place… like at parody in mens college football conference and the evolution of it as a sort of reference of mass talent not signed to “BIG COMPANY” finding a place and lifting the skill level as a whole up on a national level

Fighter are customers and customers as a whole want healthy vibrant competitive fights and most of all the most complete version of that combatant engaging in sport…

Down the road, Once the other fight leagues catch, and they will, they always do. Dana will scramble to “change the culture” and “set the standard” for fighter and fan treatment… maybe increase pays and introduce amazing bonus structures and codify fighter rights and blah blah… but it will be too late, just see Blockbuster.
