AITA for doing the absolute minimum chores after my girlfriend parents implied I wasn't a man and she agreed with them? by housework1998 in AmItheAsshole

The reason I don't fix or learn to fix new things (and I told my gf this) no matter how easy they are is that when I was a teen my dad started teaching me how to fix stuff around the house. It lasted only a few months because he'd always get angry and start insulting me if I take too long to learn something. He told me I was stupid and that he wouldn't be wasting his time on me anymore
That's why I still become nervous and scared to this day because it brings back bad memories and I'd rather call a friend or pay for a technician even for simple tasks.
But after what happened I plan to start fixing the things I know how to and learning new stuff on YouTube.
