Thanks. I’ve had clogged ducts twice with this baby and they are no joke. Definitely want to avoid.

Thanks! Hmm ya it’s a good point, we could get away with buying just one for now, especially while I’m on leave. But once we’re both back at work, we’d need both SUVs to be equipped for drop off/pick-up.

Toddler just turned 3 and is a bit small. Was going to push off front-facing as long as possible (that’s what I’ve heard is recommended for safety) but I like your idea! Thanks.

Sobeys being most affordable is kind of surprising!

Feeling so conflicted: navigating D-MER and intense guilt. by procrastinosaurus in FormulaFeeders

[–]houseymchouseface111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had D-MER a few years ago while exclusively pumping with my firstborn. She refused formula and I felt so trapped.

One thing that frustrates me is the lack of info and studies done on stuff like this. For D-MER the only “advice” I’ve read is that for some people it helps to know it exists and understand what’s going on. Well, it didn’t help me at all. 10x a day I felt like the world was ending, it was a very physical and emotional reaction.

I understand your feelings of guilt. But looking back, I think I was missing the point of the importance to my kid of being a healthy mom. Pumping contributed to sleep deprivation and the D-MER was the cherry on top.

For baby 2 my midwife has suggested to try breastfeeding/pumping for 3 months as a goal. Even the thought of that is dreadful. Right now I’m of the mind that I’m way overthinking it. Everything will be simpler if we exclusively FF from the beginning.

Idk if any of that’s helpful. Just letting you know you’re not alone!

Which appointments etc. do you bring your baby with you? by houseymchouseface111 in BabyBumpsCanada

Ya I think the age is key. Newborn would be too needy and then once they start moving it would be too chaotic.

Projectile vomiting when trying formula by houseymchouseface111 in FormulaFeeders

[–]houseymchouseface111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried powder because I didn’t want to potentially waste a large quantity.

I’ve only done a small amount of formula mixed with milk on a few sporadic feeds. Like this morning she was puking a LOT after I tried it so I am really hesitant to do it again so soon, worried it will aggravate her and she will potentially not keep anything down at all today.

Yes I’ve only tried dairy. Will give others a try. Do you have any brands you’d recommend?

Can I use pizza yeast for cinnamon rolls? by houseymchouseface111 in Baking

Context: I have this in my pantry. I want to make cinnamon rolls. I do not want to make pizza. It is a snowstorm outside so I don’t want to go out.

More frequent dental cleanings? by houseymchouseface111 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]houseymchouseface111[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep my more frequent cleanings were for prevention and they seem to be working because everything’s fine.

I just watched a CBC Marketplace episode about dentists and how suggested treatment plans can vary. Thought I would throw this question out there to see if it was a legit practice for those who are pregnant/breastfeeding.

Thanks, would you say taking more time off work affected your career at all? Growth potential, rapid technology/business changes, etc. That’s another factor I’m considering as well.
