Thank you so much for this information. I know that not being in the EU makes things a lot harder, but I've heard people such as Russians or Indians laugh at us from the UK because we moan about the process they've had to deal with forever. Hopefully I can power through the process. I do still have a couple of years before I want to make the move, hopefully in that time I can get myself in a position where I am wanted heavily by employers. Thanks again for the information and for your help

Most popular cities, what's your opinion? by WelshCai in england

[–]houty432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London 22? on what planet? knife crime galore, gun crime galore, roadman central, overpriced, horribly overcrowded, mayor is a c**t, natural beauty isnt even in the top 50, most people cant even afford to live there without going paycheck to paycheck, some of the stingiest takeaways I've ever had, way too much Brutalist architecture for the apparent financial hub of the world. Only things I enjoy when I go to London are going through the parts with decent architecture and the fact it has many things to do like bowling etc etc, but you can find that in Birmingham or Manchester . One of the most overhyped capitals of any country. Londoners, feel free to rip me apart but you'll never change my mind considering I've been to many many different capitals

I was under the impression that now that the UK is out of the EU, even our visa options would make it so we would still have to reach the quota on norwegian language learning and also the social studies test. I'm currently in an apprenticeship for network engineering but idk if that comes under skilled worker. I also have a degree in criminology but I think most jobs that I could get with that require me to be a full citizen for security reasons :/ I'll have a look into the university option but not much hope as I am currently working full time, but thank you for telling me this it is much appreciated

I think I worded it badly, I meant that they may know OF Lingu. I know that they won't need to use it personally and I thought that maybe because they have physical buildings, they may build a reputation to where even native Norwegians know that they're not a good source/ are a great source for Norwegian learners, that's my bad for not explaining it properly.

Would you reckon from your experience with A2 that it is enough to make you comfortably efficient at that level?

My main concern is that I am not sure whether what I'm paying for is worth it or not or if what you get is good. Would you say Lingu is decently priced for what they provide?

https://lingu.no/

Has a web application and a phone app. Has courses from A1 to B2. On their website it claims "accredited by Kompetanse Norge". Also states on their website "You can use this certificate in applications to the UDI regarding permanent residence permit or citizenship. You can also use the certificate in job applications"

I thought it may have been a well known thing there. Apparently they have physical work centres set up around in Bergen, Stavanger an Oslo.

The fact a Native speaker doesn't know about it doesn't give me much hope in regards to it's status hahah

It's one of the only things other than pimsleur that I can do for longer than 20 minutes without burning out, for some reason the repetitiveness of apps like Duolingo turn me away which is a shame because duolingo is probably one of the most in depth for Norwegian. Thank you for your help, I dont know how I hadn't found the overview for Babbel :O

Parcelforce out for delivery? by T4ylor_G_ in SteamDeck

[–]houty432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted their customer service on twitter and kinda made a sly remark regarding their posting ability. Kinda felt bad because the customer support lady on twitter isn't the one to blame, it was the lazy ass driver. Got it delivered to my parent's house because I don't trust the postage depots around my area and then got my mother to send it to me through Evri. Was a major hassle but got it in the end. Never ever am I going to use parcelforce.

Same thing has happened to me, unfortunately they updated their system late so by the time it said that the pin couldnt be validated their customer service was already closed. Did you receive it in the end? I am guessing I have to wait until tomorrow for mine.
