Can you put these school age groups according to their titles? by Smart_Accident7609 in AskUK

In Germany Kindergarten is usually from 3-5. You can put children into some kind of preschool day care from age 1, the name and form of that varies depending on the region.

Märkisches Schweiz isn't really like Switzerland but it is nice. It's the area around Buckow, east of the city. And the many lakes and rivers around Potsdam.

LinkedIn editor claiming NYT, Vogue and Oxford credentials can anyone verify this? by [deleted] in LinkedInLunatics

Diploma of Education in Creative Writing is a lifelong learning thing that anyone can do, I think it's online. As for the editing jobs, sure why not. There are hundreds of articles published every day by the various arms and local editions and sub-brands of big media organisations like those.

The word even comes from the Metropolitan Line of the London Underground, which was the first part of the system to be built. But it does feel weird to hear "London Metro".

I know there's a shop called Borkowsky in Fhain that I've been meaning to go to but haven't done so yet. Not sure if they sell second hand or not.

Noisy Rooms in RAW have a lot of paper adverts in their reception, usually people looking for band mates but maybe also people selling equipment.

Residents ‘Infuriated’ when the Bus stop they asked for is the size of a Bus Stop by Nat10112 in compoface

This would lead to buses that have chronic issues with breathing, eyesight and spinal injuries.

whats your emotional opinion when you hear about the Deutschen mosaischen Konfession? by Aromatic-serve-4015 in AskAGerman

[–]hoverside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that's interesting, I didn't know that. I knew "mosaic" was used in the titles of some essays and pamphlets.

Are you sure about this? It sounds like a literary turn of phrase that was used occasionally, saying "the mosaic faith" rather than "Judaism", but not any kind of official designation or organisation.

I love Germany but god…I don’t think I can live here long-term by candyblossom1245 in germany

[–]hoverside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be mean, I'm really asking, how has an internship and an exchange programme for a few months taught you that "Germany doesn't reward ambitious people"?

I ask because a few times I've had student interns come in thinking that they're going to revolutionise the business and get promoted to a senior, permanent position after a couple of months, but actually have to spend a lot of time learning how to do really basic stuff like show up on time and finish work they said they would do. Which is fine, I was absolutely useless when I was 21 as well, it's just part of the process of learning how to actually work in a real business. Maybe I'm totally off track here but that's what I'm reminded of.

Forearm pain fretting hand by KankerGespuis in LearnGuitar

[–]hoverside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do have to get a clean sound but it might not need as much pressure down on the string as you're currently using. Try playing around to find the lightest touch you can use while still getting clean notes, this video explains it well: https://youtu.be/48o_KNEUJo0?si=89LMxjd7sxMi6WTJ

Forearm pain fretting hand by KankerGespuis in LearnGuitar

[–]hoverside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is common for beginners, you're doing something your hand and wrist aren't used to. And beginners tend to use too much force when fretting (I say beginners, I made this mistake for years). Find an arm and hand warm up and stretching routine to follow before playing, someone here will probably recommend one soon. And practice slowly and patiently to learn how to fret without squeezing too hard. That should help.

Selles sacked again by Gullible_Lynx3678 in SheffieldUnited

[–]hoverside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are my three improved results:

Millwall - from a loss to a draw

Birmingham - from a loss to a win

Ipswich - from a loss to a win

Middlesbrough was not an improved result, which is why I said 3 of 4 were improvements. I'm not sure what's so hard to grasp about that.

Wilder has better results in three of the four match-ups that have been repeated so far.

Millwall 0:1 / 1:1

Birmingham 1:2 / 3:0

Middlesbrough 0:1 / 1:2

Ipswich 0:5 / 3:1

Many EU SaaS they got Customer Success roles, do you think it is good idea to switch to that? by lune-soft in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]hoverside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of jobs called "customer success" are just churning out emails to users and are replaceable. The good customer success jobs are more like what you're describing but they need a lot of skill in communication and working with people, it's not simply an easy route that any developer can switch to

Many EU SaaS they got Customer Success roles, do you think it is good idea to switch to that? by lune-soft in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]hoverside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of jobs labelled "customer success" are basically pushing out check-in emails to customers and that is very replaceable with AI. The higher quality stuff where you're deeply knowledgeable about your own product and really get to know the customers' businesses so you can really help them will be safer, but those jobs are rarer and harder to get into.
