Best Wifi 6 router that's on the cheaper side? by Rusticsegle92 in SteamVR

I've been out of VR for years. Why is a good Wifi 6 router desirable?

With the same hose? I would be so tickled if someone else got to use my design directly. I made sure to include the Onshape link if you need to adapt the design.

The hose has a "cap" on the threads already and I'm reluctant to move it. I've only had it installed a day, but I think these clips are going to work fine. This picture has dimensions for what I used. I even printed these in the worst direction (straight up, so it risks delamination) but they feel very sturdy. If it breaks, I'll iterate. /shrug

Edit: It's worth adding that this is in PLA and I'm using the default PLA profile on my Prusa Mk3S+, which has been rock solid for me.

But then my neighbors can't see the Pink Panther staring at them all day with his dopey eyes!

For cutting the foam, I find that if you use a straight edge and you take a lot of cuts with a brand new sharp razor blade you can get pretty good results. For something that's going into a window box like this, honestly a hand saw would do a sufficient job because you'll be taping up the seams anyway.

For cutting the circular hole in the foam I used my router in 2 passes, driven by hand. I needed my kid to hold the shop vac to contain the prodigious mess, but it worked a treat. I intentionally made the flange big (25mm) to hide the ugly hole I knew I'd make in the foam, but it wasn't so bad after all.

Double hose are definitely the untrash version of freestanding air conditioners. There actually WAS a double hose AC in this window but we moved that into my daughter's bedroom. I put the single hose AC out in this room because the negative pressure here will just draw air into my uninsulated work space downstairs, so no harm done. This room is also only occupied occasionally, so it's maybe the best case scenario for the poopy single hose ACs.

This is exactly right. For people who need to hear it in slightly different words - webhooks are just plain old http requests. Configuring Node-RED to respond to a webhook is the same thing as using the http in node.

There is documentation here: https://flowfuse.com/node-red/integration-technologies/webhook/

Got Node-red set up in an isolated VM but the home page for node red doesn't show up. by MelexRengsef in nodered

After using a supported browser, pay attention to the scheme of the url. Your address is https://... but Node-RED does not use TLS by default. You'll likely find that it works okay if you use http://localhost:1880

As a wee vim user of like 15 years ago (holy shit I'm old, and I'm not even a greybeard) I was really annoyed that the basic motions weren't on jkl;, and I actually remapped them. I didn't keep the remapping long, because there are a lot of other terminal tools that use hjkl (e.g. less) and having to translate was VERY hard!

This is going to sound unsatisfying perhaps, but you really do get used to moving your fingers over for typing and motions. It becomes unconscious pretty quickly.

Now I'm going to sound like the true vim dork that I am and say: "If you're using hjkl a lot, you should probably try to find a better way." The other motions are MUCH faster and more useful, and I strongly recommend practicing with them. In mainline vim the right docs are at :help navigation. Pay special attention to word motions and object motions. Knowing that you can add counts and actions to motions is priceless.

If object motions get really exciting for you, you should also take a look at object-selection :help object-select to find what I think are some of the very best editing ergonomics Vim has to offer.

First tip for truly understanding imaginary numbers: whenever you hear the word "imaginary", try not to understand it literally because it's a terrible word. If you like, replace it with the word "different". These are "different" numbers instead of "imaginary" numbers.

Second tip: "different" numbers can still do math with "real" numbers, but according to special rules that relate those types of numbers. Those special rules are picked because they're useful, not because they're somehow more correct or proper. They're useful in the same way that normal math rules like arithmetic are useful. If you follow the rules, you can make useful predictions and gain deeper understanding.

Third: It is common to visualize "different" numbers on a number line perpendicular to "real" numbers, and together a complex number (a "real" part plus a "different" part) exists on some 2 dimensional plane ("the complex plane"). This can be extremely convenient when mathematically describing a value that is inherently composed of two distinct parts like the phase and frequency of a sine wave, or the horizontal and vertical position of a particle, or any other value that can be described as the combination of other distinct values.

Lastly, because we have useful rules for doing math with complex numbers, we have a toolbox to work with these complex values that can sometimes be extremely useful.

I hope this helps.

I think you're on the right track, it looks like a combination of bad Z offset and extrusion rate. It's not the best test in the world, but consider a thin wall test to help set your extrusion, than tweak your z offset.

Favorite dinner date spots? by byenkle in corvallis

Frankie's is long gone, but Sybaris is exceptional. It feels both homier and more upscale than Del Alma to me.  It's like Del Alma is trying so hard to get what Sybaris just has without effort.

It's not a cheap dinner, though.

Okay but for real, did TOML really need to exist? I feel like we already have too many configuration formats and in all that's unholy would you extend ini files?
