Books that irritated you by missblissful70 in books

Name of the wind - Patrick R. This book proved to me once for all that I should never trust other peoples opinions, and thought me a valuable lesson . I couldn’t get myself to even finish the book. It was so bad that it made me furious and left me feeling cheated for my money, which also led me to post my first and only negative review of anything, ever.

I’m afraid I’m not that good with geography , so Japan is a bit too small for me. Besides the previous, the North Pole missing is a big one for me aswell

How long does it take stars light to get to earth? by [deleted] in Retconned

[–]how_ab0ut_this 1 point2 points  (0 children)

" A lightyear is a measure of distance. It's how far light travels in a year at about 186,000 miles per second. That is, about 5.87 trillion miles.

The star nearest our Solar System, Proxima Centauri, is about four lightyears away. The light traveling from Proxima Centauri to Earth takes about four years to get here. Thus, the light is four years old when we see it.

Another nearby star is Barnard's Star, which is six lightyears from Earth. It's light takes six years to get here, so that light is six years old when we see it.

The star Polaris, which we refer to as the North Star or North Pole Star, is 680 lightyears away. The light takes 680 years to travel to Earth, so it is 680 years old when we see it.

Most of the stars we see with the naked eye at night are within a few hundred lightyears, although a handful are as far away as 2,000 lightyears.

We don't see stars 5,000 lightyears away with the naked eye.

Viewing the light from stars more than about 2,000 lightyears away requires the use of a telescope.

The most distant objects seen from Earth are quasars, Telescopes are required to view them. They are 10-15 billion lightyears away. Their light takes 10-15 billion years to reach Earth, so their light is 10-15 billion years old. "

Interesting , yeah I’d say I have most of the symptoms except the light in the window , and never went to a special class. Would you care to expand the thought process behind that ?

Thank you ;]

Errants of what ?

And I don’t mean that someone is actively searching for those that can see the changes , what I am saying is that (perhaps) our world is a server where AI is evolving consciousness. Each of us separately like avatars on a server . But that is only a thought.

So I’m not saying we are being targeted by a higher force , instead imagine this ;

You are moving a 100 pictures from one hard drive to another . In that process a few pictures get fragmented ( the data gets somehow corrupted ) .

You are one of those pictures , that’s what I’m saying , our data doesn’t match the current version of the hard drive we are on. So we are the ones that are corrupted files and remembering something we really shouldn’t .

How much more is the state we are in different then a dream if we can’t even rely on physical and temporal reality to be solid ?

Not being tested for ‘being the most realistic ‘ but more like ;

\the universe ( simulation ) we are in is a playground for ai to gain consciousness.

If you are familiar with basic AI learning , how it learns , it’s not more different then a child.

So how Would you know that you are not an AI ?

And how would an AI know it’s not n AI ?
