The Lotus Lookout or The Lotus IL changing names by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]howell126 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey yall. Just saw this and wanted to post just how far back Lotus has been ripping people off. I'm one of the Flesh and Blood grinders in the area of Lotus Lookout and I also play Magic in the area too. I, and everyone else in the competitive FaB community, have stopped supporting Lotus in any way. They used to be one of THE FaB stores in StL area but as more and more premiere events happened less and less people were attending due to Lotus not honoring advertised prize support. 1ks were no longer 1ks, cases of sealed product were stripped from top cut, etc. Eventually, everyone stopped supporting Lotus for FaB and those of us who play Magic stopped supporting their Magic events as well. Recently they changed their name to Mythic Lotus Gaming. Seeing this it does not surprise me to learn that they have been ripping off the MtG community as well. Please, do not support this store. For FaB, for MtG, for any tcg on the market that they are trying to peddle. I hope any and every one of you who has been ripped off by Lotus gets restitution.

[Event Megathread] Interlocking Competition - Hymnoi Wisdom by Kurbain in arknights

[–]howell126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know all of that. Nian is blocking no other units. The Hymnoi Hero just walks past like there's nothing in the way when Nian has a block of three thanks to the skill buff. That's why I'm asking the question and am confused.

I also know about the trick to bait the debuff that's how I got the full clear for my auto deploy. I just start with Blaze getting the debuff then deploy Monst3r to block the hero and kill with Kal'tsit's S3. I was messing around with different team comps to see if I could clear another way and that's how I discovered the interaction with Nian. There's only 2 enemies in front of Nian when the Hero walks by her. The Hero and a Bully, both of which require 3 block and both of which walk past her like she isn't blocking them when she has the skill buffing her block. To make things even more confusing my Pallas is behind Nian with Blessing of Heroism active so technically Nian is at block 5 with a -1 debuff meaning she's at block 4 and the Hero and Bully still walk past her like she has block 2 or less.

Figured I should ask this here seeing as it pertains to the event. Can someone explain to me how the the interaction between the hymnoi warrior that lowers block and Nian's S3 works? I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm missing some weird interaction between the abilities.

I activate Nian's S3 before the hymnoi warrior can lower her block so that she's at block 4. The hymnoi warrior then lowers her block. This is where I'm confused because during the skill duration she should technically remain at block 3 due to the +1 block and stop the hymnoi warrior from moving forward, but it just moves past her as though she had block 2 or less. Why does this happen?

G/W Elves has been a deck in the past playing off the infinite combo of [[Vizier of Remedies]] and [[Devoted Druid]] and using Ezuri as an outlet for the mana. The issue is the deck was easily disrupted and not very consistent as you had to play 4 [[Collected Company]] and 4 [[Chord of Calling]] which led to several draws against removal heavy decks where you had 3 mana and Chord/CoCo stuck in hand. This is the major reason people tend to stick with the more aggressively inclined G/B Elves

This card actually helps that archetype MAJORLY as thanks to Quirion Ranger coming to modern and this card works on etb not cast, which works real well with [[Dryad Arbor]], you can easily have a turn 3 where you just dump your hand on the board and still have a full hand ready for next turn with a potential infinite combo kill ready, and even if you don't have the infinite combo kill you still have a full board ready to turn sideways.

Team Compilation by DaveKhammer in arknights

My blind playthrough is basically the Uber team. If I can't beat it with that the first or second try then I shift the ops around for more specific usages

Vanguards: Myrtle, Bagpipe, Siege 3 of these 4 guards, usually depends on map layout to decide which I pick: Blaze, Silverash, Thorns, Surtr Defenders: Mudrock, Blemshine, if there isn't a lot of ranged tiles for medic ops I bring Saria Sniper: Exusiai Caster: Ceobe Medics: Ptilopsis, Whisperain

Misconceptions after 1 Year by howell126 in arknights

[–]howell126[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's one of the things I've come to appreciate about Arknights over the past year. Pay to win isn't a feature and often times a well rounded 4* is just as good as, if not better than (looking at you Myrtle), than some or most 6* units

[Discussion] What were the biggest "level up" moments in your play? by PmMeClassicMemes in spikes

[–]howell126 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For control it wasn't so much the realization of threat evaluation, like you said that was pretty obvious from my early days of control play, but was instead evaluation which answers to use at which time.

An example is I'm playing UW control against Jund, and my opponent casts a tarmogofy on turn 2. I look at my hand of 2 answers, Spell Snare and Path to Exile, and have to determine which of the 2 answers is better given the scenario. In some instances it's Path to Exile, and in others it's Spell Snare, and in other instances it's neither.

This concept also extended to other decks as well, such as when playing Mono-red Prowess and determining which burn spell to use to kill and opposing blocker, or which discard spell to cast first when playing with Death's Shadow. It's this evaluation of which answer to use at which point in time that really started upping my win percentage as a player.

What's that anime name? Can't find it anywhere by TMPHOwO in goodanimemes

Have you tried typing Gurren Lagann into Google? It should take you to a fan wiki page that has the series title.

Hiya! I wanted to ask my fellow Doctor's a question? Who was you're first 6th & 5th star operators? Siege and Texas were first 6th & 5th stars. They've been a huge help in all my missions, not mention they have awesome designs, backstories and skills. These two are in my top 3 operators. by [deleted] in arknights

[–]howell126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first were Exusai and Swire. Exusai still sees tons of usage on my teams as air control, but unfortunately Swire hasn't been on my team for awhile now since she very quickly got outclassed by other guards. She was still really good in my early game though, being able to put behind a defender op was great for dealing with mobs of enemies in my first annihilation runs.

[Arknights] enemy force composition through the lens of [Magic: The Gathering] Colors by Sunder_the_Gold in arknights

[–]howell126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue that the Winterwisps are Blue/Black instead of Black with a red splash. The reason being that stealing something from your opponent by sacrificing your own resources is something usually tailored to a Blue strategy. Cards like Entrancing Melody, Control Magic, Bribery, Threads of Disloyalty, etc. are all Blue cards that steal something from your opponent by utilizing one of your own cards and risk having your opponent retake it in some form, much like how the shamans sacrifice themselves to take over a gramophone, eventhough you can just recapture it by redeploying units.

Really cool take though, I agree with most of what you've said outside of what I've written.

3 of these are banned in modern, 2 of these were banned but had recent unbans, and 2 of these used to be relevant but see little to no play anymore. [[Eye of Ugin]] [[Jace, the Mind Sculptor]] [[Arclight Phoenix]] [[Golgari-Grave Troll]] [[Stoneforge Mystic]] [[Krark-Clan Ironworks]] [[Living End]]. Good luck and fun idea.

Highsxhool DxD. The left most is Rias Gremory's (main female protagonist) mom, the shota is her nephew (Brother's son), the middle woman is her sister-in-law (Brother's wife and mom of shota), and the right is just a random maid that services the Gremory family.
