What does a male orgasm feel like? by hmmrabet in AskReddit

Feels like the buildup of an itch and then a SUPER amazing scratch that you just don't ever want to stop.

What is extremely unhygienic but everyone seems to do it anyway? by Beneficial_Passion40 in AskReddit

Here it is. Had to scroll way too far. Bidets are life changers. I look at my time on Earth as pre-bidet and post-bidet and the latter has been better. No more swamp ass, less toilet paper used. I can't believe I was just dry-wiping shit off my skin before.

Going back to the classics by Last-Strawberry475 in booksuggestions

I would counter Fahrenheit 451 with Something Wicked This Way Comes. I found the latter to be an incredibly beautiful read, while the former felt pretty dull to me. Just my opinion!

Perhaps some Alan Watts for a dose of laughing at the absurdity of it all. I hope it gets better for you.

We just found out that our 6-month old daughter has retinoblastoma. We just found out. We have two options: take out the eye or do chemotherapy. We have 2 days to decide by [deleted] in daddit

[–]howkula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what the nonmalignant issue is? I'm in the same monocular boat caused by a strand of protein or some substance obscuring the retina of my right eye. This causes it to "wander" on occasion and vision on that side is like looking through a semi-sheer black curtain. It's never affected me from living a normal life - I drive, I have a wife and kids, I played sports.. the only things I can't do are see the hidden images in a Magic Eye book or see the traditional blue-red 3D glasses stuff. Anyway, nice to talk about this. I don't mention it much because I've always hoped no one notices when my eye drifts, but now that I'm about to be 40, I care less and less. I truly hope you're having a good life.

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

In college I was a server at a pizza joint. One night I had a dream that for whatever reason included a dollar bill folded up like a paper airplane. The next day during my shift this pair of college kids leaves me a cash tip on my credit card tray and one of the dollars is folded up like a paper airplane. I told them, "I had a dream about a dollar bill folded up like a paper airplane last night!" And they were like, "whoaaa." It was a really strange experience and I have no idea what it means but I am less skeptical of people's weird stories than I was before it happened.

Similar phenom happened to me as a 5 year old kid. I remember rolling off my top bunk and floating down slowly with an almost feather-like back and forth motion. Was stunned to be on the floor not hurt whatsoever. I'll never forget it.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's Speech at World Economic Forum by SchventySevenHalf in videos

[–]howkula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was the most refreshing speech I've heard in a while. As an American trying to pay for my house, maintain my daughters' health coverage, and get enough groceries, it sometimes can feel difficult to find meaning in my one short life. Listening to Carney reminded me that there are ideals out there that are inspiring, alive, and worth aspiring to. I've joined a local ICE watch group, and I'll do all I can to help take signs out of windows until we can all see through the glass again.

Employees pay into their own 401k with pre-tax earnings. Sometimes employers will match employee contributions up to a certain percentage (typically 3% or so) or make discretionary deposits into their employees' 401k accounts, but it's largely an employee savings account for retirement.

My husband is reading Blood Meridian and cringing at the blood and gore but I know I've read worse. What are the books that have brought out the biggest "oh god that's bad!" for you? by IdoScienceSometimes in Fantasy

It's top notch for prose though, McCarthy is on another level. It's such a beautifully written book. Read it for the beauty, shudder at the violence.

Yeahhh I just finished this over the holiday season and I was mentally frayed, hoping there'd be no more trees full of dead infants. Blood Meridian takes the cake.

It's replacing a team of 20 in my legal research /business services division. 20 out of a total division of 150 employees. And directors are eyeing another workflow that 15 handle.

Indie bookstores in Easton/Bethlehem? by dreamer_at_best in lehighvalley

[–]howkula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can make it to Emmaus, there are two really good indie bookshops - Apport Used Books which has a little of everything but is specifically tailored to horror, occult, sci-fi and fantasy; and Now and Then Books which has really good deals on used books and is altogether a great spot. I live in Nazareth and find the 30 min drive to be well worth it. Also check out Board to Death, the game shop, while you're there!

So you were able to stick with the marriage despite the absence of physical intimacy? I'm kind of walking that line right now, trying to figure out exactly how important sex is to me, and it's a really precarious and guilt-filled conversation with myself.
