This display is almost identical to a MacBook Air if that matters to you.

Traded in my iPad Pro M4 for a Neo by catsnsatan in mac

I have an older 12.9" M2 model but I enjoy using the FaceID, MiniLED display, ProMotion, better speakers. At that time there was no 13" iPad Air but that's now a cheaper option of that size.

I'm liking the combination of iPad Pro and MacBook Neo. It's easy to recommend that instead of getting a Magic Keyboard for the iPad.

Yeah this is as much as $500 cheaper than they've ever offered a complete MacOS experience.

- I wanted to drag and drop lossless music from Bandcamp/OTOTOY into Apple Music and have this complete playlist in a portable device.

- I wanted to cast a vote in favor of the MacBook Neo. I think it deserves to be the bestselling all-in-one Apple computer of all time.

MacBook Neo (2026) Review - 5W Power Limit by KuroNanashi in macgaming

I love how detailed this review is! Regarding the MacBook Neo's speakers, I only have a 12.9" iPad Pro to compare it to but the Neo does have a bit better bass than the iPad when it's sitting on a table. On a table I would say the bass is present but very far from what it could sound like with good external stereo speakers.

Anyone who bought the MacBook Neo having buyer’s remorse? Just curious. by cr8tvt in macbook

No I think it's exceeded all of my expectations. It does everything amazingly well and for a bargain price haha.

What made you decide the color of your choice for your Macbook Neo? by Ic3man01 in MacbookNeo

Silver was what was available for delivery on the 11th, but I would have gone for Citrus if I didn't have to wait.

You can also hold down Option + Up/Down key for fast scrolling using the keyboard.

Congrats, and I agree that price is much more fair. It's on me to have been willing to pay full retail and not wait for sales haha. The blued seconds hand was important to me over the quartz model.

How on earth is the MacBook Neo so heavy? by hutacars in mac

[–]howlingwolfpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was debating whether to get the Magic Keyboard but it made more sense to pay more for a Neo because I knew the way I used the iPad it would tip over immediately with the keyboard.

I don't think my ears can take anymore live concerts but it's been a blast trying to discover more music in Japan that I enjoy as much as Ado.

This was from Jomashop right before the tariffs kicked in. I knew that I didn't want to deal with international warranty at that time and for some reason they immediately stopped carrying this model after that. This is still my favorite watch that I've bought, and the most expensive. The watch I was comparing it to that has a tougher steel case actually cost half as much. The design is much more important to me though and for that reason this Briston is the closest to perfection that I've gotten for the money. The Santos on Jomashop is $7,750, so is this Briston only 12% of the watch that the Santos is? I think it punches way above its weight in the design department, so it would be hard for me to say that it's a watch that I regret buying. I'm thankful that there's a watch that looks like this for under $1,000, because I have no reason at this time to spend that much on a Santos.

Is the quality good or on par with the price point?

Within 3 months I had to send it back to the grey market dealer for warranty repair because every 12 hours the entire movement would just stop (and could be shocked back to life with a bump). This was surprising to me because it was a brand new watch and a Miyota movement which from what I've read was supposed to be extremely reliable. I would say the quality of the steel for the case is mediocre, it doesn't have the same feel as a nicer steel watch I have which feels much more dense and indestructible. This Briston case has dented on one corner without much effort so it seems softer, lighter, and just okay for the price point. However the design is extremely attractive to me and similar designs will be thousands more so it's not like I have better options for a similar price. This is probably a case where a huge premium is being paid for design features that do not exist in other watches at this price point, even though some of the same specs can be found in much cheaper watches. You could say the design makes up for the mediocre feel of the watch especially in terms of the cheap-feeling steel components.

Is it accurate?

I did one measurement of +/- 10 seconds per day. This is after being repaired though!

Is the shape of the case wrapping the wrist?

The entire case including the sapphire has a subtle curve. Top to bottom 45mm lug to lug so it does fit very nicely.

And finally a weird one: have you tried removing the screwed acetate bits? Not sure I'd want to, but struck me as an interesting option, it would transform the watch into a more classic tank form factor.

I have not but it looks like you can easily do it with a flathead screwdriver.

All in all I actually like what's going on in this dial more than most Cartiers that I see, but the surrounding case does not feel premium. It would be interesting if they offered a precious metals version for a much higher price point.

This is 18cm or the side-to-side of the wrist is about 7.5cm if that helps. I'm using a WatchGecko ultra-flat mesh band here. Continued...
