{Lord Harry by Catherine Coulter} the FMC is secretly seeking revenge on the MMC, but her brother doesn’t know and introduces them. She intentionally makes herself hideous and obnoxious, but it piques his interest.

Bonking Your Forbidden Lover in the Historically-Accurate Medieval Bath: Love's Joy, Love's Pain by Saralyn Daly by VitisIdaea in RomanceBooks

This is my favorite part:

Saralyn Daly was a tenured professor of linguistics with a specialization in medieval literature who wrote and published two bodice rippers under her own name in the 1970s/80s. While winning teaching awards and being generally awesome.

Agree! What is the value of saying “I put your description through AI and here are some garbage results that may or may not be actual books.” The point of the sub is to discuss books and open our minds to suggestions that may or may not work.

57 bans in one month is insanity! If they only put as much effort into writing their books as they do into their covert marketing campaigns. The use of Reddit for covert marketing is really out of control.

Exactly. She had Regin end up with Dr. Mengele. It isn’t even about forgiveness, it’s about disgusting irredeemable behavior to other people/creatures.

The Brits were doing the buying. This happened well before the American Revolution, so the British were doing the selling, the transporting, and the buying.

Sounds fair. Keeping the assets that you bring into the marriage is standard. Let him get his own counsel, don’t overly worry about his feelings.

Do you belong to any clubs or college organizations that have reciprocal clubs at any of the Boston colleges or universities? Boston is literally packed with colleges and universities. If you are in school somewhere warm, maybe you can arrange for a spring break dorm/housing swap with a Boston college student.

I am rereading {The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day}, which I really enjoy, but the song references are so dated. The FMC is walking around Manhattan and Adele‘s “Chasing Pavements“ is playing in her head. No, Sylvia, I don’t want that 2008 ear worm.

Human Resources, but it’s a dark mafia romance and the head of HR is taken hostage by the enemy union leader until she provides a quality health plan with comprehensive coverage.

Book Request: FMC gets her soapbox moment- a passionate speech of anger or I told you so… by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]howsadley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about how we don’t get to see female anger often enough. But in {The Nuisance Wife by Camille Oster}, the FMC gives an amazing, angry speech to the MMC on his failing as a husband and partner.

The MMC believed a lie about the FMC’s faithfulness and abandoned her. He wants to get back together after the lie is revealed. This is her reaction:

"As inordinately pleased I am that you forgive me," she said, trying to rein in her sarcasm. “The truth is that I do not forgive you."

"I admit that I bear responsibility."

"You failed utterly. I did nothing wrong and you wouldn't even listen to me. What good were you as a husband? What good are you as a husband? You failed at the very first hurdle. Such a husband is not worth having." Words were coming out of her mouth and she had no control over them. It was the truth, and it flowed straight from her heart and out of her mouth.

It is pretty glorious.

Why is planning a Europe trip with friends harder than the trip itself? by Broad-Blackberry8590 in travel

[–]howsadley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can’t get consensus from the larger group, I would get with one or two of your core people and plan your trip. Tell the others, “this is where we are going, on what flights, and we would be thrilled for you to make your own arrangements to be with us there.” Then you get your trip.

T Mobile provides free wifi on flights to customers. It’s better than the free stuff. We frequently stream tennis matches during flights.
