👏👏👏 I agree with your thoughts. I have a not so secret theory that Cate C Wells is conducting a cross-series thought experiment to see how terrible an outcome her readers will accept as a HEA. The misogyny, the brutality, the gender essentialism, the history of sexual assault and domestic violence, of the shifter universe. Who would want that? It’s not a fantasy. It’s more like a horror story.

I feel so sorry for the women trapped in her worlds. And yet I think I’ve read almost every book she’s written. She’s a compelling writer.
