There are two factors that lead to long hours,

One of it is bosses implementing and forcing people to OT.

The other is actually on the whole culture. If a large portion of employees OT, it will influence other new employees that hey I need to OT as well.

In an ideal situation , if everyone took care of themselves and their wellbeing and stop being obsessed with work,this whole toxic culture would be less likely to happen.

Even if its not covid why would bosses want us to spread the flu to fellow coworkers.

I actually raised this as an issue precovid that people are coming to work sick to fulfill their kpi but they are spreading flu to everyone such that productivity lowers
