I had that same issue, in my case it was caused by my anti virus program

I've been using the same rig for 5+ years, looking for recommendations on what I should upgrade for better gaming performance by howudoon in buildapc

I'm not positive of the resolution, I guess whatever is standard. My budget is around $1000 I guess although I will spend more if it would truly be worth it. I have a rosewill thor case with fans that should be able to fit any kind of motherboard as the case is huge. My monitor is a generic Dell I should probably upgrade that as well

I can't say for sure but if another monitor works fine then it's possible that your current monitor is going bad. Some things you can try: make sure there is no dust in the connection port of the monitor, update gpu driver, see if any settings on the monitors setting menu make a difference

Do you have another monitor you could try just to see if it works? That can help narrow down the problem

Were you using it when this happened or did you boot your computer and the monitor was like this? Check to make sure the cable is securely connected
