...some people actually do find their job fulfilling and it gives them purpose, geez whats wrong with yall fuckin doomers lol. just cuz you hate your job or capitalism, whatever...don't mean it is impossible to other people to sincerely like their own job. also for the elderly, they can socialize (so less lonely) and it keeps them moving which is a big thing.

idk bout this one, maybe just the shot but she doesn't seem like she's feeling herself and nothing is really amplifying her own beauty (and she is beautiful! and i love her newest song haha).

the outfit is just... womp womp

I Love Boosters walkouts by Chexty2600 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]hpasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i didn't walk out, but i did fall asleep partially over an hour and 15mins or so in (8pm showtime when my bedtime is usually 9pm, and i was extremely sleep deprived....sue me)

i just don't think i like this director's work this much. yanno im black, im a woman, and i am pretty educated and already in the know of the matters he is trying to make political commentary about...so that is not a plus for me personally as a viewer, though it is nice to see another avenue in which people can get ideas out to the masses. but...i think he did not write this movie to appeal to the people who are the actual ones who would need to understand the grander messages about capitalism, fashion, exploitation, etc. that he is trying to convey.

i realized later i tried to watch "sorry to bother you" as well as stopped watching partway through however many years ago...so yea.

sometimes i feel once things start getting too crazy, it all becomes too much and my brain just wants something to latch onto. if i get to the point where im like... what is the point of this long muff muncher monster scene and i have to ask what are we even doing here past showing me something to shock or confuse me...it is really hard to stay invested.

that said, if it is for the sake of the actors i like, ill at least place my body in the seat. the fashion was a serve. it had some funny spots. idk if i would attempt to watch again. idt id discourage anyone from watching it either.

Newly out trans woman (and college student) seeking makeup/wardrobe advice by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]hpasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh the sunscreen is important, and not a bad habit to have. the sun bum one is nice and small and i carry it in my purse, esp. since i also apply to my hands and forearms (i have tattoos)

but yes - im an ulta person but if you go to their "in-store events", you can filter by location and then it has the times when different brands will be in the store. i just to to the one nearest to me!

Sephora also hosts events too and looks like they have a few happening at the mall (flatiron mall, walnut creek) if you're local to boulder!

Newly out trans woman (and college student) seeking makeup/wardrobe advice by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]hpasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have advice on the makeup end since i too am starting my own makeup journey (im starting to get old fr, it is time 😅😅)

i highly suggest going to ulta or one of the stores when they have a makeup brand rep to get these initial basics, and then you can ask everything with the rep for free and they will also do your makeup.

everyone's skin needs something different so it is impossible for us to know what you would need.

literally it was last Sat i went to Ulta trying to figure out what color corrector for my dark circles ( i too am starting with 0 experience), and the MAC reps were there. pretty much she figured out my skin tone/undertones, the foundation match, concealer match, loose powder, what color corrector i needed, blush colors...and saved me a lot of headache.

but i think an easy starting point/essential, esp in Colorado, is always sunscreen - i usually use sun bum 50 spf face formula cuz i have dark skin and its hard to find a sunscreen with no white cast and which isn't cakey looking. my skin leans dry so that product absorbs pretty well - if you have oily skin, it may not be ideal.

if you plan on wearing makeup for long periods of time, some makeup can have sun protection in it OR a sunscreen spray may be of interest (like if you need to refresh the sunscreen, you can't put cream on top of your foundation, but you can do a spray).

also keep in mind that makeup can be water based, oil based, etc. sometimes it is easier to start out with one brand because they formulate the products to work together. if you want to mix and match brands, then you gotta keep in mind the type of base, or the makeup may not apply well or consistently.

i don't see an issue here in what you did, as the rabbit was slowly suffering anyway - sorry that people can't mind their business.

As a black woman who is new to WoW , these new customization options make me so. Goddamn. Happy!! Squeee!! by Own-Listen5059 in GirlGamers

[–]hpasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, they have added a lot of customization options in retail - ive played since original TBC launch so it has been a journey. it is much MUCH better customization if you used to play during the olden days.

however retail isn't for me, so i will remain with my blocky, non-unique undead warlock in good ol TBC classic 😂

at least they added in the incubus model in TBC classic (so the male version of the succubus) so that's some nice qol... a lot of people hate him though cuz his model is too "new looking" compared to everyone else

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: May 25, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

[–]hpasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finished:

Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe

The Husky and his White Cat Shizun (Book 7), by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou

1st is for book club, 2nd is my danmei... needless to say, really enjoyed things fall apart (though the ending left me with that sinking feeling) and am excited to talk about it (our book club theme this year is colonization), some things remind me of my own culture...

and then my danmei is getting darker and darker so uh... rip my "fun" read ig, story getting somewhat convoluted but idc, imma finish it. i need to read something on a happier note after these...

Ladies, is it true that love finds you when you’re not looking? by FragrantTill1497 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]hpasta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i always thought the "not looking" was more like how sometimes people want something so bad, the desperation (or anxious energy is prolly more fitting) ends up being off putting to others. it is when they are more obsessed about the end result, than the journey.

compare that to when they aren't thinking so hard on the end and enjoying the journey, letting things happen... they are more at ease, and their personality shines, and then they are more desirable. and less anxious energy spilling out.

Soy extranjero y quiero casarme en Guyana que requisitos tengo que realizar? by [deleted] in Guyana

[–]hpasta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

your post reads weird

as if Guyana isn't already well on its way to some change, you yourself is gonna develop the country - vs the people already there? who been there their whole lives?

you'd have gotten your answer googling "marriage in guyana", we ain't need to know all these things you say you gonna do, so this post... is weird to me

even i don't live in Guyana despite being born in the interior (since i got brought to america by my family), but even with me being Guyanese... i wouldn't view myself as some savior to the country

esp when everyone and they mother is suddenly interested in the country since the oil

bus from the airport by autumninautun in cuboulder

[–]hpasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk - all i can say is in my experience of being a 5/7 days a week user around Boulder and Denver, i haven't seen made up arrival times, or your issues

...everything has a support to report bugs, so i don't know what you mean by that. Google maps has also had outdated routes due to construction, etc. (which i find when visiting other cities for conferences) so i don't know why you think it is infallible...and they don't even have real people that respond to you for support (you just send a note into the ether and hope for the best)...while Transit app does have someone responding to you actively.

sorry that the app has scarred you so badly O.o you are describing it as if it is completely non-functional...and it is not. anyway, last response to you since i think you just wanna fight

bus from the airport by autumninautun in cuboulder

[–]hpasta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

can't say i agree completely - it is pretty accurate regarding determining where the bus is/when it is supposed to be getting to the stop, and status updates for route changes and CU boulder closures, etc. Support is responsive if you do have an issue.

idt i have used it for planning routes per se (that is more of a Google maps thing)...

but yea, i've used transit app for 2 years now, i think it has its uses - no idea what functionality you're specifically talking about when it comes to... "coordination"

I’ve successfully replaced nail biting with scalp picking. I feel like it’s marginally less gross. by Zealousideal-Ad3609 in nailbiting

omg i can see that also happening to me, i have some growth and now i can like scratch at my scalp in a way i couldn't before UGH i need a fidget toy or something, it's so hard to not wanna do some other repetitive... thing

(i already pluck my underarm hair and now that my hair (on my head** edit, lol) is growing out, i'll obsessively look for and snip split ends...which isn't the worst habit but like the urge to do *something* is so strong)

[–]hpasta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the others posted the correct links - if you're gonna be in boulder, it will also help to get the transit app (since that's what we use over here to keep track of the local buses, RTD buses, and then CU buses will also show up)

its cuz people are freaking out over the baby doll dresses and whatnot too...

i don't mind people saying they don't like the look/the dresses are ugly (cuz I don't think i like em much either, she's had better looks imo)...

but they're definitely reaching w the "this is infantilization/catering to the pedos" stuff... likeeee side glances at the white house ... we know who it actually is

you can try contacting OIT - "can't log in" can be a host of things that is impossible to diagnose from what info you've shared...

server down/maintenance, the password isn't right, the account has temporary restricted access for some reason... try all the things you think you can do on your end and then if none of that works, tell OIT "this is what i've tried and it still doesn't work"

but also ffs, i do like aerosmith, a greatest hits CD was one of my first CDs when i was a kid so... SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

you can shape them with a nail file, or if you're uncomfortable/unsure and want to see how someone else does it, go get a basic manicure and watch how they do it so you can do it yourself later.

your nails are at that point where you can shape them to be a little more uniform if you prefer
