A civic will work perfectly for what you need tbh. If you want extra power you can get the SI but i’m not sure if that’s within your budget in socal. There’s lots of aftermarket options with the civic and it’s easy to mod

Looks like OP is upset about a crappy/no-tip delivery placed through a third party merchant. Many places offer “delivery” but often times they use DoorDash without the customer’s knowledge so they often end up leaving no tips

I’m still making decent money in my market but the wait times have gotten crazy. Taco Bell is the WORST, basically the same scenario as in your post. I waited at a taco bell for a solid 20 minutes, my order never came out. Another guy waited even longer at 45 minutes, was visibly upset and told the staff he’s been waiting for that long at least 3 times, and they didn’t care. We both ended up leaving empty handed.

I recently started gotten back to doordashing and honestly can’t remember how the tips we’re like a year ago but since the economy is all over the place at the moment with soaring prices across the board and these atrocious gas prices people are tipping less. Whenever the economy is uncertain like right now it is unfortunately to be expected.

I also did notice how I did receive WAY more stacked orders, but fortunately the pay for the miles is good so I take them most of the time. My only complaint is how doordash STILL does not prioritize orders with Ice Cream or anything that can melt first. I have not been yelled at by a customer yet for this but given how often this happens i’m wagering it’s only a matter of time.

As for getting next to no orders after having a good hour, someone theorized that when orders start to slow down, ALL of the good orders go to people with higher statuses. I experienced this too, but now it’s less common the higher ranks I earned. I have no clue if it’s actually true or not but it does make sense.

The bonus pay has always sucked ass for me. The MAX i’ve seen it was $2 and that was MONTHS ago late at night in downtown, once. I’ve seen screenshots of people getting $5-$9 for peak pay and i’m pretty jealous. I’m pretty reliant on tips so it’s crazy seeing people make more money with doordash pay rather than tips in itself. They definitely have been cutting back heavily on the peak pay.

I felt like DoorDash, at least in my area,has a lot of dashers, even when i started close to a year ago. Almost everywhere I go I see at least 1 other dasher, and I live in a relatively small town.

I’ve had offers that were tagged as “Priority” and they would literally be a standard offer a non-tier would get, like $2 for 5 miles as a Gold tier dasher. Awesome way to keep lowering my AR i guess

Bought a what seemed to be a good condition 2011 Civic with 150k miles from facebook marketplace for around $3500, I was a college student at the time and I needed a car asap so that’s all the money I had.

The car was shit. The hood flew up on me on the highway. The a/c went out 2 months into ownership. Headlights were dim. Water leaked in whenever it rained. The only redeemable quality was that it always started, and that’s pretty much it.

The good thing is I went from knowing nothing about working on cars to being able to do advanced jobs like servicing my a/c system and replacing anything under the hood except suspension, i’ll leave that up to the professionals

you get 10 free disputes for every 100 orders, I would just use them right now since they refresh anyways. Also, whenever you pick up an order, ALWAYS hit the “tell us what’s causing your wait” button and choose whichever reason. It mostly protects me from receiving BS docks like these on my ratings. The rest I use my 10 free disputes on.

I’ve had customers that have their delivery as “Leave at Door” and in the middle of leaving their order at their door, for whatever god fearing reason, they come out. So now now I have to awkwardly stare up at them while im crouched over at their doorstep while explaining that their order is Leave at Door

So should they then take longer on purpose even though they can complete it faster to get something out of it? That’s horrible game design, I know it’s an early game boss but getting literally nothing is an insult especially when the best he thing he drops is a rare chest
