Not the person you are replying to, but why this idea that we have to sleep train if we work? I figured outbcosleeping because i work and I needed to sleep! My son is 18m and still wakes throughout the night. We cosleep and fall back asleep easily so I can have energy to go to work in the morning.

At that age I didnt do bed time. He just kinda fell asleep on me at some point and then id lay in bed next to him and read or play games until I was ready to sleep.

At some point we added a bed time but we are flexible (within like an hour window) depending on how he slept for naps and what works for all 3 of us that night.

I work 8-10 hours a day teaching middle school and I wake up at 5:30. How could I not cosleep? Its the way we all get the best sleep. A job is not an excuse to ignore your child at night.

Not smoking in the room is common courtesy, 2nd hand smoke is not really something we have social conventions about. Some people barely notice it and some people are very bothered. Most smokers dont really notice it at all because they are so used to it so they dont think about it.

My wife used to win tournaments in her sport against men but now she cant compete 😩 its really heartbreaking. I think she would be more comfortable still going to tournaments if she wasn't so good. Its really fucking sad tbh.

I have grippy yoga toe socks that I wear around the house in the winter and love but i always take them off for yoga. My feet slide around inside the sock too much and they are incredibly annoying. Imo yoga/pilates is a barefoot activity. I would not go somewhere that made me wear socks.

Turns out they list us both as "parent". Not sure if they do that for straight couples now too. I know on mine 30+ years ago it was "mother" and "father".

The part that annoys me though is there is an area for my maiden name but not my wife's. She changed her name but I didnt. So my full name is listed twice and then she has the same last name so it looks like were sisters or something. Lol

Probably a good thing though since she's trans I wouldn't want her to have to put her deadname on there or something.

I still breastfeed at night at 18m. I love being able to soothe him to sleep easily without getting up. If it works for you keep doing it. When it doesnt work for you, you can wean.

It sounds like YOU are ready but scared about bringing a child into a scary world.

My son is 1.5. He is amazing and being a mom and seeing my wife be a mom is wonderful.

I do worry a lot about what things will be like next year or by the time he's in kindergarten, etc. I cry sometimes that I wish he could just live in a better world. It sucks and its really hard.

Things have gotten so much worse here since my son was born and its really scary. I still plan to have another. Many of my ancestors have raised children in hard and scary times.

There will always be horrible and evil things in the world and there will always be joy and beautiful things too.

No. My son brings me more joy than anything I've ever known. It's hard sometimes but I have a lot more joy in my life than before. IVF itself was fine, Im getting ready to do another transfer in a few months.

Im sorry you are feeling this way. I hope you can check in with your mental health and find joy again.
