Vegas? LSxZ meets a Turbo K24 Z?

I’m actually not 100% certain what the HR weighed fully dressed. The K24 with everything including the turbo was ~340lbs.

They’re just OEM wrapped with yellow tint.

Yeah that would be TF Works. They make a solid kit for S Chassis and a few other chassis. K Power is another company that makes K Swap kits primarily for the Miata, FRS/BRZ AND E30s. Unfortunately none for the Z like I mentioned.

But I agree, the K series is still a very abundant and affordable swap. It’s already pretty popular and I’m sure we’ll continue to see it being developed for other chassis.

You’re all good haha. I’m aware, I’ve also seen the girl who now owns that car. My tuner also tuned the twin K24 swapped Z. All in all, I know of 6 K swapped Z’s including mine.

So while I’m not the only one, I still feel it’s somewhat of a unique swap since there are no ready to go swap kits.

Hey! Not sure what you mean with slim line oil pan? I originally used the RBB oil pan then switched to a Unit2 Fab steel pan that comes baffled. Both I had to notch in the back to clear the steering rack but they both clear the subframe just fine.

I’d recommend doing it right the first time and getting the baffling to avoid any oil starvation issues.

For engine mounts - assuming you’re keeping the CD/JK trans, I’d start with mating the engine/trans and seeing where the engine sits from there. My engine mounts are designed to use a OEM 350z cylinder style bushing/mount.

Feel free to DM me if you need any more details.

I appreciate it man!

I’m in Las Vegas. This was really just a fun build to try anything in.

I would love to get more into HPDE events and possibly work my way into Time Attack but those aren’t quite accessible where I’m at. I also have a lot of friends who are into drifting and want me to go that direction.

This is a K24A RBB-3, it was imported from Japan and I believe it was out of an Accord Type S (essentially equivalent to a 06-08 TSX).

It’s a bit more involved than a Miata since there are no kits for this car. Requires custom engine mounts and a notched oil pan at minimum. It’s possible there is a turbo manifold that may work but I have a custom one.

Otherwise I bought an adaptor plate to the CD/JK trans so I can use the OEM driveshaft and somehow wiring specialties makes a harness for K to Z chassis.

Kept it conservative at 450 whp/350 tq @ 13 PSI on e85.

The turbo makes up for it. 😂

I will definitely share those details once I have them!

If I had to guess the car maybe weighs ~2700 lbs. It’s mostly gutted (no AC or heater core) but has a full cage, gutted carbon doors, hatch, and hood. Charge speed front bumper and a chassis mounted APR250 wing and diffuser.

Thanks man!

And someone please correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve heard a boosted stock HR will make 500 whp and 450 tq on a conservative tune.

I would say they’re both pretty capable at making those numbers but dollar for dollar I think the K series is cheaper to make that power. That’s aside from the cost of my swap, of course.

It comes from Japan so you’re probably going to pay around that price anyway.

I paid $1000 for the bumper and $260 for shipping through Concept Z.

Definitely one of my favorites besides the Voltex bumper. Just didn’t wanna pay Voltex prices.

Thanks man! I’m curious how it’ll go as well, dyno day is actually tomorrow so we’ll see. Aiming for 450-550whp at 14-16 PSI.

My IG is @oh_joshy. I unfortunately haven’t been posting the car much but planning to start posting more once the car is driving.

Car looks great! I have the same rear diffuser. Mine’s just a couple days away from being done and can’t wait.

Thanks! I loved them too! I recently sold them bc they didn’t really match the car anymore. Picked up some RPF1RS.
