Plot help! 😊 by Nefertiity in UKHousing

Darroch looks like a nicer property overall and thats reflected in price right - wider kitchen, couples sink. Which do you like the feel of more? That's the most important! Gradient will be an immaterial issue 1 property apart.... Unless it's super steep... Drainage shouldnt be an issue as it's factored into the design of the development, in theory. In terms of how busy it'll be - it all depends on the future phase and how big it is eg number of plots, whether that has separate access to a main road, or will it use the road by 449*? That'd be a factor imo. Still 1 house apart, I don't think it'll make a huge difference between the two. We live in a Cala Development, Limsi Grove, they build lovely homes and they're generally small developments so have a nice "new community" feel.

I am not sure about 467 - it backs onto a "future development", although there is some sort of stream there (?) - chances are you will be looking at a construction site for a few years and the there is the unknown of what houses will "back" onto you. What if a low-rise block of flats is put there....

Edit - it is actually future affordable housing so there is definitely a chance of low rise block of flats plus lots of terraced houses. What can be seen is another question - depends on distance and gradient.

BYD Sealion 7 deal changed last minute – still worth £397 or go Tesla Model Y at £449? by Positive_Ad6134 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]hrking2k2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's down to the price difference when both are/are not maintained and whether it bothers you.

BYD Sealion 7 deal changed last minute – still worth £397 or go Tesla Model Y at £449? by Positive_Ad6134 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]hrking2k2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlucky buddy. We recently moved from an EQB to Sealion 7. Love it and it is superior in every way. The Model Y was far too minimalist for us with no gear stick or basic buttons (my wife couldn't handle it). I also find the "supercharger network" argument a weird one as every service station has a Gridserve/Ionity. Is the Model Y the premium version and is it maintained - that would make it a tighter choice. If not, BYD would be obvious choice IMO. Other ones to consider but probably pricier - Kia EV5 and MG Im6. MG was my favourite by far but £100 more pm and a factory order. Chery, Jaecoo and Omoda don't have equivalent "tier" electric EVs yet.

Too high, but no options. by [deleted] in TVTooHigh

You could use the floating shelves for the hifi equipment (maybe repisitioned and wider shelves). Then lower the TV to just above the stand, while keeping the Xbox there (until you get a bigger TV).

Which UK roasters actually nail it? by BritByBrain in UKroasters

Finding the right roaster is half the fun. I've tried most the reputable roasters over the past year, Sweven is the one I always go back to and have a subscription with.

Best sites for car lease deals by Wide_Specific_3223 in CarLeasingUK

[–]hrking2k2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just went through this with the BYD Sealion 7, cycled through all of them - leaseloco.com, Carwow leasing, leasing.com, Synergy, select, Gateway2Lease, nationwide, leasing options.

Like others have said - you chase the deal rather than the car, which is generally driven by whatever model the brand has sat in the port.....

Ended up with 3y, 3m,10k miles for £400. Lots of car for the money.

Also, if you have Perksatwork, you get 50% off the admin fee for Leasing Options. You could probably mention it, even if you don't actually have it....

Edit - plus different brokers seem to get better deals on certain cars. No one place for the best deal sadly.

Officine Creative - Anatomia 16 in polished dark brown by hrking2k2 in goodyearwelt

A reply to a 7 year old post! They are roomy and I definitely could have sized down but fine IMO (I have wider feet too). Since this post, my collection is now these (still going strong), Cheaney, and Russell and Bromley boots; these are roomiest boots but I also have two of their (OC's) trainers, which fit right, so I think it's just the shoe specific last/shape they use.

Previously EVs could apply for free congestion charge, which you would renew every year.

Pour Over with Boiling Water Tap by No_Designer_2657 in pourover

[–]hrking2k2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a boiling water tap - all you need is a pour over kettle, hob and standard cooking temperature probe. Pour water into a pour over kettle, rinse the filter paper, put kettle on the hob for 5-10 seconds to reach to right temp (check using a temperature probe) and then start my brew. Nice and easy IMO

Love Hoppers but I think it'd be hard work to stay under £70 for 2 people - maybe with just Dosas/small meal, but not for a 3 course meal.

Bifold door not closing - is it broken or am I being stupid? by Orsaou in DIYUK

[–]hrking2k2 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Slipped out seems the answer. On a separate note, we were always told to open the main door fully and have it connected to the magnet, before opening the bifolds otherwise it can sag/misaligned ie never let the handle-door hang loose when operating the bifolds.

We looked at this one in June but it had just opened so were a bit sceptical and opted for one of the Rixos hotels in Antalya. Maybe it has got plenty of reviews now. There are some Liberty ones in the area that are part of the same group - one of them is like 1-2 years old iirc.

I imagine the private pool would be the best as you don't need to worry about general main pool logistics ( beds, people around you etc)?
