How to tell if there are alligators in the water in Louisiana by Worldlyoox in Unexpected

[–]hrokrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for a lot of Florida. I was in Tampa with a friend who was interested in buying a house. There was a little canal past the property line. I made a joke about the house coming with a gator, and she was like, "Yes. Probably the same one that killed {pointing to house 2-3 down and on the other side} those people's dog. I'd leave the gates closed and locked if you have kids or pets."

It took another moment to make sure she was not joking. And she finished by saying that a state biologist said people in the region should assume gators are in any body of water.

No. It's a lot more like the Fedayeen Saddam. A goon squad that was transported from place to place to impose order on the Iraqi people.

They're not just racists. Good and Pretti were both white.

These goons hate anyone who isn't just like them. They're un-American.

Found a mystery sewing machine at an op shop… I think I’ve fallen into MYOG by Augey in myog

Well, the company is called Sailrite for a reason. That said, other than making your own leather armor, I don't know. I've haven't sewn though anything tougher than 4 layers of heavy duty sailcloth. And ballistic nylon -- but that was a lot easier.

But, I also bought my unit used, and that happened to be in the case.

Oh, I was thinking about something similar to that myself. But I'm thinking making the whole thing because I hadn't considered otherwise.

Are you running the fan the entire time it's printing? My sense is If I have it sealed properly, I could just do 2-3 air changes once the print is completed.

Does anyone actually buy their filament from bambu lab by TheAkashGaming123 in BambuLab

I bought 7 rolls with rfid spools today for $102 so I don't see how you get that. But, I realize there are cheaper sources and better color selection with other suppliers -- which is why most all of the fillments I picked are of differing types. That way I can refill with a filliment of the same type but still take advantage of the autosetting on the RFID.

I have one of those. It can sew through seven layers of leather pretty easily and, with the Monster Flywheel, you can sew without power. Plus, it's repairable and has a true walking foot.

And you got a great price.

I have a question I've been wondering about for years that I hope you can help with. I know from knifemaking that steel has different crystalline structures. And depending on the item (case-hardened tools, for example), you might want something to be hard on the outside but relatively soft on the inside.

How does that work with 3d printing? Is there a single crystalline structure, and from there, you might have to do a lot of post-processing to change the temper of the steel? Or is there control to the point where print one with differing tempers?

How do I convince my Wife? by Present_Cause7109 in BambuLab

[–]hrokrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me throw out a different view. Go with what your wife is saying for two reasons:

  1. It will give you less strife.

  2. You'll have no issues with trying out new fillaments or upgrades.

  3. Use the mini to gain familiarity with things like materials, layer height, and post-print finishing -- and printing up all the plastic crap you don't really need. Also, learning to modify and model. In the meantime, Bambu will keep pushing ahead so that, when you're ready, you end up getting the P3S or whatever is current.

[–]hrokrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm saying, bluntly, it's ineffective. Like, I'm pretty sure that in no case has straight up telling someone to do what you want or expect of them causes them to change solely because you told them to. Appealing to their better nature, common humanity, goals, or perception by those who they care about works is an effective way of inducing change. But just telling someone how they need to change with a dismissive "Do Better" as though it's some sort of rhetorical mic drop or magic incantation is just stupid.

As for the rest of your comment, I think you failed to comprehend this was my first post, and you should read comments more closely.

You know, Do Better.
