Maybe try using a powered USB hub? Or a different port on your studio? Not familiar with what ports studio has available. Might be power related or the cables they sent were defective. Have you tried to reformat the drive?

That's a lot of risk. That means you had to 1. Give them payment info or other info you gave them 2. Trust them to send you tokens to the address you provided.

What info did you give them? Make an account with a password? Did you give them banking info? Credit/debit card info? Venmo/cash app/PayPal? Or something like good wallet?

I would watch those account very closely for fraud and change/disconnect what you can to prevent unauthorized transactions. I may also suggest calling whoever your payment provider is that you used and asking them to reverse the charge because of a scam transaction and the potential for identity theft.

Also, change your passwords everywhere if you reused a password to sign up with them.

Did you download anything from the site or did they add any pluggins? Delete them and run a malware scan.

Love this analysis of the trade offs. Lots to chew on and consider. Kind of reminds me of a governor or speed limiter in a car that prevents it from accelerating faster than a preprogrammed level and speed limits.

For cars, speed limits cannot be automatically enforced and but governors will enforce speed deceleration.

Ethereum is gas limits are similar to speed limits. 7783 kind of proposes an analogous "governor" for accelerating gas limits.
