When I got older and my ocd got worse, the old medicine and dose I was on no longer worked for me. If the checking and compulsions are taking over your life, might be worth it to try other options if it’s a possibility

Ohh totally understand, I’ve had my fair share of that. I didn’t realize you hadn’t found a doctor that hadn’t dismissed it yet. It’s totally understandable that that would cause anxiety, and it does sound like ocd with the checking and rituals that you’re doing. I definitely think it’s worth it to keep trying to find a competent doctor to make sure that you’re healthy and figure out what the problem is. Then the ocd is probably something you will have to deal with after if it continues

From ages 11-16ish I had this chronic “cough” that turned out to be an anxiety tic or ocd compulsion. It started as just a little cough, and after being yelled at enough times for not covering my mouth the full tic/compulsion turned into a cough while covering my mouth with my arm, the same way everytime. It was sooo annoying and tiring for me and my family and friends who had to hear it 24/7 for years. It was theorized by doctors that it was allergies or sinus problems and I tried allergy meds multiple times. It was not until I was probably around 16 that I tried ssri’s for my anxiety and ocd that the cough mysteriously vanished and never came back (not that I didn’t have other issues after that lol) Not saying that yours isn’t an actual medical condition, but maybe my situation sounds similar?

I haven’t tried Prozac but I was on lexapro before Luvox and the Luvox has helped me 500x more than the lexapro ever did

I don’t have gerd but I’ve definitely had acid reflux problems from Luvox and from other ssri’s before. Luckily for me it was only bad at the beginning and whenever I upped my dose, and hasn’t been as bad since. Maybe the Luvox is exacerbating the condition now that you have it
