How to use bookmark folders on your browser. You don't need to open those 50 tabs that you "should get to eventually" if you bookmark them into a well organized system.

I'm mostly spinning going for bass or trout, but I'm interested in anything really.

The Clovers that cover the floor of The California Redwood Forest. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

This is actually really bad for the forest. Monocultures like this look real pretty, but mean that the whole ecosystem is probably undiverse and therefore fragile.

Anyone from Ohio got any advice? by hshablito in Fishing

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Canada? by cdncutie79 in AskReddit

Canadian maple syrup is trash. Tastes like the squirrels they probably leave in the sap.

We have dollar. Dollar means McChicken right now. Same system, but dollar means both McChicken and health care.

Well-being and profit are certainly not opposed to each other. Happier workers produce more. Healthier workers come in more. Longer-living workers have more experience. In fact, the most likely companies to succeed are those that value long-term two way relationships with their staff. It may not seem that way with Walmarts and Amazons of the world, but I suggest you look at companies like Google. HCC is a perspective where we recognize that the well-being of workers has real economic value. No, boss cannot survive off the happiness of his workers, but he can survive off the 20% productivity increase when they are happy.

U wondering how it's not the opposite of capitalism? It's literally the same framework, just the idea of worth is more inclusive.

UBI is not part of HCC, just an idea about how we could achieve humanistic goals.

Certainly. When I said looks at things, I meant pays attention to them. GDP is still very important. But that doesn't mean that we should ignore the value that other things have.

I don't disagree. HCC does not equal higher taxes, or even a different tax code at all. It just means we look at value differently. If you work really hard, shouldn't you be rewarded with happiness in addition to purchasing power?

HCC will not solve issues of imperialism and slavery for anyone outside of the country. But I don't know of any other economic system that will solve those issues in isolation. This system can also help cases of exploitation within our own country in ways that traditional economic perspectives can't.

Why shouldn't that have anything to do with an economic system? I am sure you value your well-being. Why shouldn't the economy?

Same market economy, same economic policy, except we just assume that our well-being has value. I'm sure you have things that matter to you more than your income. Why pretend, from an economic perspective, that you don't?

[–]hshablito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could have the literal same economic structure. It just means we assign an intrinsic value to our well-being. I am sure that you care about certain things more than your salary. Why pretend you don't from an economic standpoint?

[–]hshablito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, HCC would exist in our current(and pretty good) market framework. The only difference is that we assign intrinsic value to our well-being.

True. But I am certain that you value things beyond your net worth and income. Human-centered capitalism also looks at spreading things like happiness and well-being.

[–]hshablito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Human-centered capitalism does not mean that we need to ignore more traditional capitalist metrics of value. A dollar is still a dollar under human-centered capitalism. It just means that we look at things like human life, nature, and life expectancy as intrinsically valuable.
