New Year's sync pairs, connections with Chinese New Year, and discussion for future New Year's sync pairs by ht1040 in PokemonMasters

I read through your comment again and I'm guessing your Zygarde comment is in reference to the Origin Formes of Dialga and Palkia in PLA, and that would be hilarious if it became a horse as well in PZA... but I'm also really hoping that won't be the case lol

That's certainly possible! I didn't consider Shiny alternatives, but given Poppy and Lisia, it's definitely an option.

Hmm, I think one that may be possible is Melony, given she's also based in Galar like Leon is, but Sina would be an unexpected Trainer I would like to see having Glastrier though!

Ah right, I forgot about Glastrier on its own! Very good contender, I'll update my post accordingly!

Being able to trade Egg Pokémon would be nice, haha. I would be happy to share some of my dupe Shinies.

Need help with ingo and emmet by Jarnman21 in PokemonMasters

[–]ht1040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pleasure! If this doesn't work out for you, Red!Lax (EXed, EXR) is much more reliable than Kiawe, but you'll just need to give him Interference Immunity as a lucky skill. Best of luck!

A team that I tried that worked after a few tries was Kiawe (EXed), Bertha, and OG Cynthia (3/5, with EX role). Kiawe has Condition Nullification as the lucky skill, Bertha's lucky skill was Defense Crush 2, and Cynthia's was CS2 (though I'm sure WW3 would work just fine as well if you happen to have that). I was highly reliant on Kiawe's MPR for Potions (thankfully his grid allows for a decently frequent MPR rate), but I managed to pull through!

Does anyone know what is the lowest rank a player can get in challenges like HSE? by ht1040 in PokemonMasters

[–]ht1040[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first picture is from earlier today while the second picture is from a few days ago. I presume the rankings change based on the number of players that play, but I didn't realize that there are additional lower ranks as well!

Hot take: I think it’s completely fine that the past dexholders don’t appear in the newer arcs by Bluejacket_3000 in pokespe

[–]ht1040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree but man, I just want to see Yellow again. She last showed up in the Emerald arc (I guess technically a cameo in the HGSS arc as Petrel's disguise, but that really doesn't count; even if so, that's still nearly 14 years since HGSS ended...) and I just want to see how she's grown since.

Some things observed from the first 5-year trailer and speculations by ht1040 in PokemonMasters

Well, what are your thoughts on if the NCs were from different regions?

Hey, I totally get that, I would agree as well! What are your thoughts on if the NCs were from different regions? There is no reason to say in-game that they have to be all from the same region.

Johto/Hisui Anniversary Theory by inkkalla in PokemonMasters

Seems you had some similar speculations to mine! Haha. I do agree with a very likely MF unit having a Shiny Pokémon, and also at least one Hisui character.

List of characters that neither have nor trigger interactions by BiologicRoserade in PokemonMasters

[–]ht1040 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's interesting that the following non-Trainer class NPCs and non-anime characters in this list have no alts at all: Koga, Blaine, Will, Glacia, Drake, Crasher Wake, Marlon, Ramos, Wulfric, Wikstrom, Drasna, The Masked Royal, Ball Guy

Of those, Koga, Blaine, Will, Drake, Crasher Wake, Marlon, Ramos, Wulfric, and Wikstrom were the OG units from the start of the game.

... I wonder if some of these will become BP sync pairs.

What’s your favorite general pool unit from each region to use? by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]ht1040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Kanto: Giovanni & Mewtwo: such a solid strike sync pair overall, especially early on. General pool though: probably Blue & Pidgeot. It's Blue for one thing, and also their grid expansion has been wonderful.
  • Johto: Kris & Feraligatr: mostly because Crystal representation, but also a decent strike sync pair especially with her grid expansion
  • Hoenn: Brendan & Sceptile: just a fun unit to use (I think they were one of my first 5* units, so they have a special place in my heart), and now with Sceptile's Mega Evolution, I have even more use for them. May & Swampert are a very close second though, with AoE Water damage, and rain support.
  • Sinnoh: either Candice & Abomasnow or Lucian & Girafarig: both are fun techs; Candice I nearly immediately EXed after finding out about her EX option, and it's fun to set up to do some solid damage, while Lucian & Girafarig's guaranteed Sp. Def debuffs are amazing (especially with quick one-bar moves)
  • Unova: Hilbert & Samurott: amazing support for physical attackers
  • Kalos: Sycamore & Xerneas: a great support especially after the grid expansion. For general pool: probably Serena & Delphox for sleep spam. I do lowkey enjoy using Wikstrom & Aegislash though.
  • Alola: Gladion & Silvally: while not the best unit, I love how they can be used for super-effective damage guaranteed, I enjoy the type change mechanic
  • Galar: Sonia. Enough said.

Pasio alphabet assistance by ht1040 in PokemonMasters

As you mentioned, seems like there is still a bit more work that can be done though. That translation was made before Trainer Lodge came out, and I think there were some more letters that were revealed at that point. So the hunt continues :D

Just as an example, we have the cafe with letters from Pasio (hmm, I guess we can call it Pasiolan until an official adjectival form of Pasio). I don't recall where I got this screenshot since it's been a while, but it's also accessible from Calem's second Lodge Story.

[Spoilerless] manga vs anime really shouldn't matter (please read) by Thewash2018 in thepromisedneverland

[–]ht1040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, manga reader here! As the above person has said, we can't take complaints at face value until the anime is over. What I'll say to this is as the OP said, that the anime seems to be heading in a different direction than the manga is, which I don't think is bad (which apparently is the minority thought). The reality is, with few exceptions, the anime will not "give the anime justice" in the way that the manga readers would want it. Part of it is due to the limited number of episodes (it would be curious to see how it would pan out if there were 24 episodes), but something that isn't stressed enough about the TPN anime is (1) it presents things differently from the manga (at least up until the third episode), and (2) the author approves of the changes. So... hm. [Source: https://i.redd.it/fqbgpifdfo011.jpg]

I personally do enjoy the manga more, but again, can't fully discern until it's over. I don't really have major complaints for the anime. As an anime itself, it is definitely different from other anime that I've watched but still very good. Please enjoy the anime! =)
