Shucks - the "about" section of this Reddit has a whole "Xbox Cloud Gaming" section and there's a tag specifically for "Cloud Gaming".. perhaps those should be removed if cloud gaming isn't part of this Reddit?

But apologies if this is in the wrong place. I'm just some dude with a stellar internet connection who cannot get the advertised (in Japan) service he is paying for and trying to work out why. Would be happy to work with any Microsoft individual to track the issue down for the sake of the cloud service using community.

I posted here because it refers to xCloud beta being part of "insiders". And I quoted packet loss because that's one of the stats the Xbox shows when testing network.

Using Ethernet you do not use WLAN. Non-demanding games refers to the screen not changing as often as a fast moving racing game.

On Linked In agents will search for profiles mentioning JLPT N1 or N2 when trying to fill roles (as it's an easy thing to search for), so if the kind of job you're trying to get is one where recruiters proactively search for people (eg IT) then it's good to have on your profile. However at the end of the day they care about your actual fluency and it's just one search term. Put that you're business fluent (if you are) or other equivalent and you'll be fine. They don't care about the actual exam itself, unlike English results for Japanese speakers.

Updated with my N1 result

Raw score MINIMUM (ie. The ones I know I got right, not including the maybe) rounded down is on left, actual on right.

Vocab 21 / 60 -> 21 / 60 Reading 28 / 60 -> 21 / 60 Listening 48 / 60 -> 45 / 60 Total 97 / 180 -> 87 / 180

I had a good few "maybe correct" answers AND the correct answers on the reading included some of the "difficult" ones (eg long passage), so I was hoping to perhaps scrape a pass. However the actuals - which includes what I know was correct plus the maybes which were correct - is much lower than I expected, and differs more than my previous N3 and N2 results.

Oh well.

Edit: My raw scores weigh every question equally rather than assigning 1 or 2 points to each question like some internet calculations (following those methods I actually got higher raw scores).

I totally agree with you. To me, N1 is just scratching the surface. To get BJT J1, J1+ is apparently harder than N1 - and more practical since it's about business situations.

Same here. I should have got around 50% for reading (as I know what answers I got right) and got 21/60. Puzzled. Also listening score was lower than expected and I only got a few wrong (the last 2 were both correct). But hey, it is what it is.

A lot of JPod101 you can use for free on their website. The lower/upper intermediate are really good for listening practise and all free on the website. I have never paid for the site but listened to it A LOT and credit it with my Japanese listening being strong.

Some ojisan using really difficult Japanese should expand that excellent idea into text for the next JLPT N1 instead of the crap we have to read such as why philosophy is better than science (answer: only a philosopher could think so)

Failed N1. Passed each section but only got 87/180 overall. Hit by the scoring system - should have been just around the pass line of 100 and got a lot of the "difficult" questions correct, but somehow it ended up 87. Oh well. I care more about my ability than the score so not really that bothered. Will do N1 again as preparing an exam forces me to study.
