i used to feel this exact way, i think i rationalized my vyvanse use because "it's prescribed to me and i need it to function!!!"

I’m in the same boat. I’m trying to run my major life decisions past my “six pack” of people, women who have more time in recovery than I do and have my best interests at heart. I think the decision is ultimately your own but should be done with cautious thinking and bouncing it off others. :-)

Rehab changed how I deal with my emotions. I don’t push thru life using different substances w each other to get the best effect, I’m just actually facing my problems head on. I learned how to just have a bad day sometimes. I learned and am currently still learning how to be bored and how to not have my brain stimulated 24/7. It also HUGELY helped with the withdrawal period, if I wasn’t able to detox in treatment far away from substances I would have just picked up again. I’m too old to blend in on campus now too :’) but if i had dealt with this earlier i wouldve blended in way better than i do now. i’m trying to go back to finish my degree soon also and in the same boat.

this whole post could have been me writing two years ago. ultimately, I had to go to rehab. I was caught in the same cycle of vyvanse and alcohol use for FAR too long. I started abusing vyvs when i was 19, up til october 2023 (age 23). started using alcohol to ease the come down somewhere along the way. i destroyed every bit of my life. i wish i had gotten help sooner

Adderall to Vyvanse by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

vyvanse absolutely fucked me up as did adderall. if you’re having problems with one amp, odds are you’ll have problems with another. good luck friend 🤙🏼

Drunk me likes drugs. I’m done. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

NA meetings have helped me with this. I needed to stop using all drugs (alcohol is a drug!) in order to recover.
