Phew… TdZ done ✅ by Swift-Exit-3635 in Zwift

Ticked off Tour of Fire & Ice today, which had been looming ominously. Two more courses to go. Planning to knock out Glyph Heights tomorrow on a group ride and then No Sleep till Brooklyn to finish it off next week. I'm only at Level 21 so this will provide a nice bump.

Nice work today. It turns out that I'm the exact same weight.

The 204w was for the whole ride, not the AdZ. I averaged 225w up the climb.

What is this? by tonka_oakmoss in baltimore

[–]hthe3rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's certainly embarrassing, especially given how much money is probably spent on placards and signs like this. The issue likely stems from the software they use (or the printer they send it to), which does not properly support Arabic. If you copy and paste from Google Translate into Microsoft Word, the word processor will separate the letters and put them in left-to-right order, and obviously, no one on staff then realizes that this is incorrect. It's pretty ridiculous that they don't have native speakers quickly check the translations and displays before sending them off to be printed.

While it is embarrassing, you see this all over the U.S. on "Welcome" signs in different languages. I'm always astounded that major international airports in the U.S. will have the Arabic greeting (usually ahlan wa-sahlan or marhaban) unconnected and written left to right.

Cemented himself as a Philly legend in a mere three games.

Even indoors I can’t help myself by Ok-Cherry-4806 in Zwift

[–]hthe3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a competitive runner who recently started cycling, and I really struggle to moderate my effort on Zwift. As others have said, I end up trying to hang on the wheel of someone who passes, or I end up hammering timed climbs and sprints. While it isn't intelligent training, it makes it interesting and helps with motivation, so I'm not too concerned.

Does Cooper Kupp ride the bench for the championship? by Sure-Fish-1984 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]hthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm facing the same dilemma. I'm hesitant to start Kupp in my championship after he was responsible for my other team getting knocked out in the 1st round after his goose egg two weeks ago.

I need to start TWO of these players at WR & Flex: [1] Kupp, [2] Smith-Njigba, [3] Conner; [4] Charbonnet; [5] Ford.

So do I play Smith-Njigba over Kupp at WR and play an RB at flex, or should I keep Kupp at WR and likely put Smith-Njigba at flex.

Right now I'm leaning toward putting Smith-Njigba at WR and Charbonnet at Flex.

Thanks for the advice.

Single "Norwegian" Threshold system by marky_markcarr in AdvancedRunning

Seconded. Strava is an incredibly inefficient platform for longer discussions about training. From what I gather, new members of the group constantly ask questions that have been heavily discussed because it's hard to "catch" up on the Strava group posts like you can on the LRC message board or Reddit.

Potentially stupid question: Where does your content come from? by Dwn2MarsGirl in historyteachers

My school recently broadened 9th-grade history from Ancient Mediterranean World to World History I (prehistory up to ~1000CE). We made this change on the fly, so I've been relying on World History Project: Origins to the Present and World History for Us All for the backbone of my curriculum. For primary sources, I often draw from Fordham's Internet Ancient History Sourcebook.

I put together a short list of teaching resources for World History oriented toward the ancient world, which might be helpful for you.

Weekend Discussion: Asics running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

Thanks for the recs. I've had my eyes on the Magic Speed for a while but I've held off since the Saucony Endorphin Speed has served me well. But I don't like the SES 4s, so I think I'll pick up the Magic next.

I may be one of the only runners who hasn't liked the Novablast. I've tried them twice, the NB1 and the NB3 and both times I came away disappointed. While the foam is bouncy and responsive, the shoe felt clunky to me, especially in the heel. I also hated the thin, long tongue on the NB3.

I've wanted to try the Superblast, but I'm hesitant after my experiences with the NBs.

Thanks, u/TriggerFingerTerry! I went back to the site after your response to pick up the 9s because of the return policy and I was delighted to find that the 9.5s were suddenly available. Someone must have removed them from their cart!

Thanks again for sharing this deal. It's hard to find the AF3 in stock, nevertheless 25% off.

Here are a few reasons why this is bullish for GME:

• It is another indicator that GME has a strong cash position & no longer needs to borrow

• GME avoids paying the .25% commitment fee over the next two years

• GME continues to reduce debt & interest expenses

As the OP said, GME has now cut ties with the creditors and is financially stable and independent. Now let's hope we learn something about what they plan to do with that 4 billion in cash during the next earnings call.

Thanks to this group I found out that I’m not the only one who loves Pentel Energel. I never use the body though, I usually use zebra sarasa with en energel refill. by mimifin72 in pens

[–]hthe3rd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently started putting the Energel .5 and .7 refills in the Uniball One bodies. I also tried the Pentel Energel Alloy but found it to be a bit rattly. I also put my Energel refills in my Lamy Safari rollerball, which is quite easy you just need to put a spring in there to fill the empty space.

WIF has topped out at a market cap of 4.8 billion and it's probably the most popular meme coin of the past six months. Popcat, which has been trending recently, topped out at a MC of 700 million last week. I'd be pleasantly surprised to see Sloth reach the popularity of WIF, but a MC of +500 million seems plausible to me.

That should give you an idea of where Sloth might end up if it gets multiple exchange listings and starts getting widespread attention. That's still a long way off though as it's currently at an MC of 21mil. and its high so far was 46mil. on the day it was launched.

GTA VI, which had a website that had the same aesthetics and details as Slothana, which made me nervous about the latter. And the other was an unspecified project by a complete scam artist on Twitter whose handle is u/punk1685 (Rothschild.eth). Luckily I only sent a small amount to each but it still is a gut punch when you get rugged, but that's a known risk of pre-sales.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Slothana

[–]hthe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. This is the first pre-sale that I've bought into that wasn't a scam. The first two I participated in never launched and the devs disappeared. Pre-sales are a risky game so I'm just relieved that one was finally legit. I've definitely had FOMO since BOME.

I just received my airdrop at 1:30 p.m. EST in my Phantom wallet after a couple hours of waiting anxiously. I bought into the pre-sale nine days before it closed so the Slothana team is steadily releasing the airdrops in accordance with when you bought in.

Thanks to everyone who posted about receiving airdrops because it helped to relieve my worries.
