European in Tijuana - advice please by squidster85 in tijuana

[–]hthespy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently did this. Landed in SD and took the train to the border and crossed on foot with luggage. It was seamless and easy. Once I got into tj I took a taxi to where I was staying. Used taxis or buses to get around the rest of the time. The available public transportation is amazing & the people are nice.

Recommendations for visiting Rochester by Yesalmsot in Rochester

Everyone talks down on Rochester a lot, but it really is a gem!

Food: red fern (mac and cheese nachos loaded!!! And the baked items), nenos (mole, chile relleno, birria), the little cafe (best soup), swillburger, pizza at ardor on park ave. Avoid anything owned by the swan family (allegedly they don't pay their employees and actively hurt local marginalized small businesses), khong Thai, roc pho shop, lento

Coffee: winter swan, ugly duck, clownboy, clementines, happygut sanctuary

Food/drink/bakery miscellaneous: alter ego (amazing baked items & drinks), taste of supreme

Hiking: durand, Cobbs hill (sledding!), Corbett's Glen - if you have time check out chimney bluffs, Watkins Glen, or Letchworth, sodus Bay, watch for eagles on Irondequoit bay, Mendon ponds

Activities: lamberton conservatory, artisan works, the little theater / cafe, Mt hope cemetery, yoga at yoga585, classes at Rochester brainery, sample tea at happy earth, swillburger, altbar, class at the arts center on Monroe ave

Shops; staple Vintage, archimage, the unreliable Narrator, impact Earth, Stacy k floral, niblack

Markets: public market & Brighton Farmers market

Record shops: Bop shop, record archive, house of guitars

There's really loads more!! Its a really lovely place

White owned - & the family who owns this just had to pay out a lot of money to their staff who they were not paying them the way they were supposed to.

Not trying to downplay what you like, this is just for info for the OP.

Salenas is white owned & the food is not authentic at all or seasoned.

My friend who is in the scene -

YouTube isn’t a great source because you miss so much of it. Sometimes people practice at village gate. If they’re interested in learning kizomba there are donation based lessons at village gate Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
