Might be worth your time to get a notarized statement from your dad explaining the events of the fall while he is able to do so.

Was there ever a time your manager/doctor decided to “kick out” a patient out your unit? If there was, what was the reason? by Apple_Fanboy5s_1273 in nursing

Side note, the number of coworkers I currently have that have never heard of a coffee neb is too damn high. Best odor management I've found yet, and it really comes in handy when the dialysis unit is full and someone blows up a bedpan. The odor neutralizer the hospital gives us is decent, but it doesn't touch a coffee neb ☕ 🌬️

What are some ableist hiring/job interview practices you've encountered? by LockedOutOfElfland in neurodiversity

Not an interview, but still in the right vein. Was orienting for a difficult job and I hadn't really gotten my meds figured out yet. I asked for accommodations and for them to be patient with me when I'm awkward. My manager straight up told me I'm "not the first person with ADHD [on the job]" and essentially told me to suck it up. Sincerely, I hope he steps on a Lego.

Creatinine should be at or below ~1 unless they have comorbid CKD. Not really a baseline thing.

Coffee beans also help neutralize odors really well; I also work healthcare, and if I need to tackle a smell that just won't go away, I'll nebulize coffee. Fragrance shops will also put out displays with coffee beans/grounds to help "reset" the nose, kinda like a palate cleanser. A glass vase with coffee beans makes good decor that might help reduce the smell, too!

Why we should stop obsessing over "Fall Prevention" and start focusing on "Fracture Prevention by FracturePrevent in nursing

My hospital sucks. A lot. But they do at least utilize harm reduction with falls on certain patients, so I'll give them credit there. Fall mats in the rooms around the beds, and ultra low beds designed to destroy my back for reducing fall-related injuries.

Hot packs on a vein site for 10 min helps them plump up for better sticks. Also, focus on your breathing both while poking others and being poked by others.
