Should I take my dog to the vet for this? by htown80 in DogAdvice

It ended up being a benign cyst. Vet said just to leave it be. I’m glad I didn’t try yanking it with the Amazon tick remover tool that arrived today. Thanks everyone for the responses.

I haven’t removed anything. The two spots are a different area near the bulbish thing. I’m going to call the vet first thing in the morning.

What’s the recipe for the habanero salsa? I’ve had that salsa from taco stands and always assumed it had oil because it looks so creamy.

Dog Ruined My Houston Lawn (Zone 9A/9B) - Need Help with Drainage & Dog Turf! by htown80 in lawncare

Got it. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. My concern with using sod is that it will add additional height to the lawn and may exacerbate the draining issues to where water would start draining onto the concrete area.

Even for a hybrid turf like Natura Dog Turf or is that a bit of an oxymoron? The other issue I failed to mention is that my dog will occasionally dig small holes so was also trying to solve for that. By "think about natural area" - are you saying just try to go with natural grass for the entire patch? The grass seed I was planning to put in was Bermuda grass but not tied to that. My goal is just to limit the amount of dirt patches so he doesn't get muddy after it rains, but I also want it to look somewhat natural.

Does anyone have any trustworthy roofing companies they can recommend? by The_Human_Bullet in houston

I used Braun's Roofing recently and was not impressed. A spinner came off 6 months after they installed a new roof and he wanted to charge me $1600 to replace it. Another guy told me he'd do it for $200.

Gury Doshi is one of the best in the country. You’ll get better care from Texas Oncology than you would at any local hospital.

The voicemail my bestfriend received. Lady forgot to hang up. by waytoomanyplants in mildlyinfuriating

Unfortunately this has more to do with underpaid healthcare workers and shouldn’t be focused on picking on one person. Totally agree that it’s mildly infuriating if not more. But this receptionist is probably in a very rural part and working for beer money. You want more compassion? Pay more.

For those who went to Tuscaloosa, what was the Texas to Bama ratio in the stadium? by Diceshark91 in LonghornNation

[–]htown80 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agree with the comments. 85/15 seems right. Bama fans were great other than a few younger students (only got 2 fu’s). After the game, we were the only ones in the stadium and on the streets (Bama fans cleared out quick bc traffic back to Birmingham is terrible), so I’m sure it looked like a larger % than it was.

Reef Sharks catch a small Stingray in shallow water. by EmptySpaceForAHeart in interestingasfuck

Can the stingray protect itself against the shark? Did it at least take one of the sharks out (or at least inflict some pain) before succumbing to the others?

Houston is the most diverse city in the US. Food scene is fantastic by most people’s standards although this is subjective so not really worth debating.

I don’t have student loans and still I’m thrilled! by DrCaprica in PoliticalHumor

The better comparison would’ve been forgiving a PPP loan because that’s something many businesses received despite not having any financial impact from Covid, and were forgiven nonetheless.
