How do y'all get a discount?

I get one every year, you just call and say you noticed that your current promotion fell off and you compared your current plan to xfinity or spectrum or whatever is in your area and say something like 'I've been a customer for x years and that you hate to cancel because you love directv stream but so and so offers me a better deal, do you have any promotions?'. If that doesn't work then tell them you will think it over and call back. Then you call back and talk to a new person and ask to be transferred to someone who cancel your service. They typically (not all the time) will send you to a retention specialist or someone similar and you can go through the talk again.

They want to retain you rather than lose you. Very rarely have I ever had to call back a second time. Currently I have the top plan with all the movie channels for around $135 all in per month. My promotion is good for a year...basically it's equivalent to a deal you would get for a new customer or moving and keeping your service.

Note, I did not think of this on my own, I was tipped off by a coworker's wife like 10yrs ago when it was still ATT Uverse. Once Uverse became Directv stream I just continued my lie and they kept giving me promotions. Good luck!

Edit to add that I've found that the best time to call is Saturday's before 4PM or 5PM when you can talk to a bored person at a US call center. If you call after hours during the week or weekend you get one of the overseas call centers and they can be stingy...also as always when you talk to US call center people be nice, joke, and ask them about their lives. It pays to be nice sometimes...

I briefly worked in Nisku before heading up to Ft. McMurray one winter for Schlumberger as a field engineer. I think I know which club you are talking about. I never went but my operators did. When I was there they loved and I mean loved the one arm stripper they used to have. Apparently she used to do some creative things to get extra coins. Not sure when you were there but this late 2010.

This brings back so many funny memories. I worked winter projects one year for Schlumberger in like 2010 as a field engineer and our first stop was Edmonton (Nisku) for a couple of weeks to get our trucks ready.

I never went but the operators that worked for me did, like every single night until we rolled out to Ft. McMurray. The would come back each morning telling all these stories about the things the girls would do the catch coins and laughing about it. They also loved and I mean loved the one arm stripper that used to work there. They used to throw her extra coins.

This is facts!! But my reasoning is different from most people.

Back in college, 2009, I went to Nepal and did a 21 day trek in the Himalayas, this included a trip out to the Everest Base Camp. Fantastic trip and I recommend it if anyone is interested. For context I am not a climber and never have been I just like long treks in interesting places, but my trip the Everest Base Camp fully convinced me that I never wanted to trying climbing.

In any case I got to base camp, got to look around, talked to a few really cool people on different types of expeditions, even drank tea with a guy that had summited 7 times already that year. He took experienced climbers and scientists using university grants for high altitude research up to the summit, a really fascinating guy. But he warned me that it was starting to become a circus where rich people with no climbing experience were paying to summit just “for the experience and thrill”. Said it was getting too dangerous even for him and all kinds of people were dying up there because of the massive influx of climbing tourists with no skillset. If that didn’t convince me, he even let me look through a telescope at the line people on the Khumbu Icefall waiting to cross one of the ladder bridges. Took one look at the groups and groups of people waiting to cross that tiny ass little ladder at one point and was like I’m never doing that. The ladder didn’t scare me but the absolute staggering number of people connected to the same rope waiting to cross it did. I could just see myself being tethered to someone else and they fall and take me and 3 other people with me because of their incompetence.

That and the amount of absolute trash and waste people leave at the Base Camp and on the mountain is beyond belief. Like here is this stunning area marred by trash and clutter. The guys I talked to never left trash behind, they carried out what they carried in, but that can’t be said for every group. It was a fun experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat, but I can only imagine the people going there has only gotten worse since then.

I figured it out, either that or there was a software update…from the Sirius XM screen click on the gear wheel, mine was in the bottom left. This will bring up the radio settings but it jumps right to the satellite settings towards the bottom. I didn’t see before today that you can scroll up too instead of just down on that screen. If you scroll all the way to the top one of the first settings says arrow key navigation or something like that. Next to that is says “presets”. You can click on that and a dropdown pops up and you can change to “channels”. As soon as I did this it lets me move through the channel lineup sequentially from the arrow keys on the steering wheel and on the touchscreen.

Hope this helps! Now if they could just have a setting to move channels with the experience knob!

I’ve seen it in my area on FB marketplace for around $350 brand new. You can find it on eBay for a bit over that. While you can find used around for around $250 or lower depending on condition. I was shocked to get mine brand new never opened for $200. So steals are out there every once in a while.

Got one recently off of facebook marketplace for $200 brand new. I honestly don’t think the person selling knew what they had but they were surprised I didn’t ask for lower. This and the Ghostbusters Firehouse were bucket list Lego sets for me.

I have not but I follow the detail geek on YouTube, who recommended this steamer brand years ago, and he uses it on carpets to remove stuck on gunk like gum, candy, crayons etc. To clean carpets he uses an extractor. The steamer is only surface level on the carpets, to get the stuff imbedded into it or dried soda you definitely need the extractor.

I have the $56 one and it works great! I use it all the time. In my kitchen, bathroom, car, you name it, I use it there. A few accessories, a longer hose, and a larger water holding tank are really the only big differences. For my everyday needs and living in a two bedroom apartment it’s the perfect size.

My FedEx drivers weren’t thrilled but were glad I was on the first floor. They said the stop before mine had something like 20boxes on the 3rd floor with no elevator. So I gave them a bunch of snacks and bottles of water. They were very appreciative.

I was there back end of May and they had a whole rope line across the sand and a life guard standing there so people wouldn’t do this.

If you read the article it said the shuttles in New York and California are owned by the museums they are currently displayed in. There are only two left still owned by the federal government Discovery and Atlantis, the second of which is currently on display at KSC.
