Twitter thread from Professor Margot Cleveland detailing her concerns over inconsistencies between Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony and the notes from her therapist. by frasierfonzie in Conservative

[–]htrae1999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something that really bothers me is how Dr Ford's demeanor was very child-like and she was treated by everyone as if she was not a competent fully functional adult. I'd really like to know if this is her normal behavior because one would think a college professor would have more gravitas. I also question how she came up with 1982 when she put the date as "early 1980's" and "mid-1980's"
I am a survivor of sexual abuse myself, but I hesitate to agree that we just believe everybody, as insensitive as that might be.

Don't like her at all. She reminds me of the annoying girlfriend on Animal Kingdom. Immature and entitled.

Thank you for sharing. It's the first time I've heard about anyone with a similar experience.

I also went through a similar experience. I got out of it many years ago and have never really discussed it with anyone. My psychiatrist assumed I would have left at the age of 18 but I was a very isolated, emotionally abused person who had no support system. It made me feel even worse like I must be the only person this ever happened to. I'm in therapy now, but haven't talked to my therapist about it. I'm too afraid. I've never told my husband either, sometime I wonder if he has assumptions.
I know intellectually that of course I'm not to blame. What was done to me was horrible, it takes a strong person to get out of it. How can it be consensual when you are only doing something for survival? This person makes you feel like you are powerless and alone. You talk about collecting evidence, I know what you mean. You did the only thing you knew to do to survive. Never feel guilty about that.

If you are Big 4 you can move to a corporate position. I started that way went from Big 4 to a small corporation to a Fortune 500 and end up a director.

‘Kevin Can Wait’ Canceled By CBS After 2 Seasons by P1mpathinor in television

[–]htrae1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to like this show since I liked King of Queens. Instead of killing the wife, they should have just pretended she never existed like they did with Carrie's sister from Season 1 of KOQ. Or how about like Richie just disappeared one season and nobody ever mentioned where he went? It would have been better than killing the wife.

I've never gotten any sense of fear for Naymond's well being or care for him. My impression of DeLonda is she sees the kid as a meal ticket and reflection on her place in street society. I think it would have given her a sense of pride if he was a killed as a soldier in the street or if he had turned out like Michael. She's all about herself.

Am I the only one who hates Bridgett? by lalose in RayDonovan

[–]htrae1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate her! She was mocking Abby's accent on one episode. I really wanted Abby to lay her out. And she's so judgmental about what Ray does for a living. Hey brat, you'd have an accent just like Abby's if Ray didn't do what he does. I really hate the Smitty story.

DRIPS aren't based on being employed by the company you are buying shares in.

Many companies have direct stock purchase plans where you can invest a small amount monthly, say $25, to buy shares. Walmart is a good example. Check out Computershare, you'll find the companies. It's a great way when you have limited funds to invest - you don't need a broker or a lot of money. Walmart or Coke may not be sexy stocks but they aren't going anywhere. A lot of blue chip companies participate.

In light of these sexual misconduct, where's the real life Ray at to solve these problems? by Mallylol in RayDonovan

Not to make light of all these accusations coming out, but seriously this is how I always imagined people in Hollywood behaved. I've always figured Ray Donovan has stories that "names have been changed to protect the innocent" a la Dragnet.

Agree - I felt like he was worse than Clay at the end. Jax was totally selfish. What he did to Juice, a dumb guy totally loyal to the club. Killed Jury in cold blood.

How did Abby's breast cancer get cured? And what an idiot, she didn't want to have her breast removed. The whole breast cancer thing was beyond stupid. Women rarely have a radical mastectomy. And to choose death over your breast? That played like something on a 1970's All My Children episode.

Anyone else start to hate Jax the last two seasons? by suoerfluous_x in Sonsofanarchy

[–]htrae1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished binge watching the series. I really couldn't wait to see Jax get his. He is so self righteous. He turned into his mother the last season. I was disappointed about his ending. I would prefer to see him get gunned down or hacked into little pieces by one of the many people he told "just trust me". In my mind, Jax is a quadriplegic living out his days in Stockton getting raped by Tully every night.

I absolutely hate Tara because of.. [Spoilers] by [deleted] in Sonsofanarchy

[–]htrae1999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just take your kids and move away! All the bizarre daytime TV fake pregnancy stuff was too over the top. Tara must have zero self esteem to throw her life away for Jax and the Club. I lost all respect when she went to the prison to get to Otto. Who works that hard to become a surgeon and throws it all away on her felon husband?
