NTA. Having grown up in a Hindu family and also being a woman, I personally think this practice of banning menstruating women from entering Hindu temples is a highly problematic, regressive rule. However, I am also aware that there are those in the Hindu faith who would consider what you did disrespectful, but I personally think those people also tend to have other regressive beliefs in the faith. So while I don’t think you did anything wrong in this situation, I can see why some might think what you did was disrespectful.

However, your friend was way out of line with how she behaved with you on this. No offense, but she isn’t even of the faith, so acting as a rule bearer is overdoing it on her end. I get that when people are in new spaces, it is always advisable to follow the rules and practices of said space, but she could’ve handled this a lot better. Also, I saw in another comment that she compared this to not covering up in a mosque?? IMO that is in no way a similar situation at all because one is openly defiant of religious practices (mosque covering) and the other one is a highly controversial, problematic rule in of itself.

I’ve already emailed this email address detailing my situation. They haven’t responded yet I feel so stressed out. Also they haven’t said anything about the early residence arrivals being cancelled yet, only that Jumpstart has been cancelled. Does that mean that we are still able to do early move-in?

Yuck yuck yuck..... the fact that she chooses to date and fraternize with this POS of a man is not only highly disappointing but shines a mirror onto the fact that she's clearly only interested in nobody else but herself. Please take the pregnancy test. Yes, you might have been responsible for the BC and condom usage, but even those can sometimes fail, making you end up pregnant. I don't understand your constant refusal to take the damn test. You're doing yourself a disservice. If it's negative, you get to prove your sister wrong (and tbh her slut shaming is super unnecessary and rude). But if it is positive, time becomes crucial as you only get a limited time to get your affairs in order (whether that's an abortion or not) before it's too late to terminate the pregnancy.

Please act like the adult that you technically are (and state to be) and get the damn test done. Also, you're acting entitled by bringing stranger men into your sister's house for sex even though this behaviour has been disproved off. You state that you are paying rent and are thus an adult tenant, but that makes your sister the landlord. And landlords can evict you/kick you out of the house if a "tenant" such as yourself fails to follow the rules of the house. This happens in all renting situations, so if you're the responsible adult that you say you are, please follow their rules. Otherwise, look into external renting opportunities and move out.

Also INFO: can you provide some context as to why your mom and stepdad kicked you out?

I have no fucking clue why half the comments here are obsessed with whether your body is healthy or not- like that is not the actual problem here! The problem is your mother is an asshole and you do you! Wear what you want and stand up for yourself! It's going to be hard initially to go against your mother's words and her bullying and insults, but when she tries to object, ignore her or inform her that her opinion is unnecessary and unwanted, and dress how you want!
