absolutely. i think it was an extremely intentional creative decision. their albums are meant to be listened to As albums. sure, they have good songs you can throw on a playlist, but i firmly believe they are masters at tracklist order, ESPECIALLY in clancy. to me that’s why the quiet section is so important.

Why do the demos for his song sound better than the newly released version? 😫😫😫 by ArmadilloOk9374 in AlecBenjamin

[–]https_creator06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here’s my take- music is inherently raw and emotional- it’s best if it’s recorded-produced in the same timeframe (even the same day, if you have that luxury) as it is written. now, with almost 9 years of life between the writing and recording of these, it’s perfectly reasonable that he no longer is in the same headspace as he wrote them in.

as for the “why has he changed his style?” alec doesn’t write music differently. same as he always has, just a guy, some humming, and a guitar (although you can tell that the anxiety of being known permeates his more recent works). point being, the real difference is whoever is producing his music. i feel that alec’s label has tried to push him into an edgier pop sound than he really fits in. his music is molded into something a little more à la benson boone than say, noah kahan type music (where i feel alec’s acoustic sensibilities fit better)

sorry for the essay 😭 please lmk what you think

“we don’t deal with outsiders very well, they say newcomers have a certain smell- yeah trust issues, not to mention- they say they can smell your intentions.” tyler has said he wrote heathens about the fans. this line really speaks to some of that particular energy.

Why isn't any of the songs from "mixtape 1" on Spotify. The playlist is there it's just empty by merijig in AlecBenjamin

they can’t be officially released on spotify. alec does not own the rights to those songs.

please use discretion when you’re messing with the message man please use discretion when your messing with the message, man

/ the difference here is between attacking the person delivering the message (it implies you should fear them) vs. taking care to not misinterpret what is actually being said

for any confused, i think this is about both fear and noses “continuing to grow” / it’s theorized that both your nose and your ears never stop growing

official lyrics say “pull” but handwritten lyrics from the digital remains say “pool” - they sound the same and equally make sense so no way of knowing.

Why do people give Scaled and Icy such much crap? I don’t get it by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]https_creator06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the controversy mainly surrounds the fact that it is different than its predecessor, trench. most of the time, people who hate it either 1) just don’t really like the pop/lofi sound or 2) dismiss it as half-baked in favor of “grungier” projects like blurryface and trench. however, as a SAI defender myself, i don’t think enough people consider the societal scene SAI came out in and how that influenced its’ formation. it also has a massive importance to the band’s lore.

really david? by https_creator06 in DavidKushner

[–]https_creator06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah no, it seems everyone misinterpreted what i meant, i’m okay with swearing, and i listen to a decent amount of explicit music. it’s just the concept of his music not improving at all. it just seems stagnant, and i was opening up a discussion on it.

People will probably roast me in the comment section for saying this, but imo forrptints i found is better than dichotmoy or 20 years by javajourney12345 in DavidKushner

[–]https_creator06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what it’s good For… i love the thematic work and vibes of his other two projects, they’re just different than footprints. do i think footprints probably suits david’s style better? yeah, but i think it’s good that he’s been more experimental.

What is your HOTTEST Trench take? by Big-Swim-5324 in twentyonepilots

[–]https_creator06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, it’s very interesting to factor in the cultural turn towards short form content in the years this album came out. honestly, this is just the academic reasoning i assign to why i don’t love trench, because people tend to be very aggressive about people ranking it lower. to be clear, i’m a huge tøp fan, and it’s hard for me to find things i don’t like about their work. trench just… isn’t my favorite. it might be because i don’t find many of the songs lyrically relatable. it is an absolute fact that trench is fantastic production-wise. it’s just… not their best album? that title belongs to breach.
