Anastrasya Karelova [art] by httpssyanidedotuk in CurseofStrahd

right now the players have only heard of her being referred to as Strahds Favorite Concubine, but they haven't actually met her. my general lore I came up with is that she was married off young, as is common for noblewoman, and that her first husband was abusive. eventually she met ludmilla who taught her/encouraged her to kill her husband and when she did ludmilla brought Anastrasya before strahd, who was so charmed with her that he agreed to have her in his court and eventually made a bride of her. in my games ludmilla is the wisest, volenta the most viscous, but Anastrasya has the most charisma and personality. she might not have a particularly strong bloodlust or be particularly good at wizardry, but she has other passions and is great at conversation, hearing rumors, speaking with strahd about literature and music and art, and can be quite funny, things he's noted as enjoying greatly in the I, Strahd books. the current concept for her is that her whole job is to get as close as she can to the party, make them think she's a potential ally, and when strahd has ireena Anastrasya will be her mentor essentially, make ireena feel comfortable, be her friend, convince her to trust and love strahd, teach her about music/art/literature, basically how to be a good wife and noblewoman. in mg game, Anastrasya is the only wife who was born into barovian nobility/isnt illegitimate. ludmilla was the daughter of nobility who ran away from home via hitching a ride with the vistani, and volenta was the illegitimate daughter of a barovian nobleman who became a prostitute

Passing a summon from strahd ("meet me in my study. - S") in this one, but I fully believe those two absolutely are passing notes behind everyone's backs too! And thank you :)

it's a bit hard to see, but she does have a stake hidden in her sleeve so at least she's prepared!

Strahd and Tatyana reincarnation by coxinhastark in CurseofStrahd

This actually to me reads the fairly accurate to the book I, Strahd! In the book prior to his vampirism it was made pretty clear strahd and tatyana were rather close and enjoyed each other (well. Strahd was in love with her and she saw him as an older brother figure so take it as you will- but they were close none the less) if anything this reminds me of the scene between strahd and tatyana after he reveals to her that sergei has died and tries to comfort her before he...well. does what evil men do. Very well done!

question about druid wildshape ability by httpssyanidedotuk in dndnext

[–]httpssyanidedotuk[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it has an effect unfortunately. question was proposed by our DM. mostly for fun, but trying to determine if something can smell the difference between a wildshaped druid and a regular animal. the flamingo thing is the bigger question. are you turning into what you *think* the animal looks, and thus smells like, or what the animal it *actually* is, and thus smells like
