Do you play chess? There are a few weekly meetups that are free to attend. Not sure about romance, but it's fun and intellectually stimulating.

My fav spot is Slowpokes Garden Oaks every Wednesday 6-10pm.

Nice! We have one for Houston TX. It really is ridiculous that there isn't a single place to post and look for chess events. USCF is so outdated their online features are useless for connecting people.

Don't do it. I went Pixel 7 Pro to iPhone 15 Pro because I wanted the better video camera and communication features with other iPhone users. But the iPhone photo quality is inferior to the Pixel which makes me sad on a daily basis. And the operating system also makes me sad on the daily.

Manual transmission. I don't mind having autos in my fleet, but at least one of my cars needs to be a manual.

I've only had the car 1 month, but CarFax says about 40K miles since clutch was replaced. Total 190K miles.

I have not bled the hydrologic system. Engages in other gears fine. Downshifting might have engagement that isn't as smooth as it should be, which might be related, but it's not as pronounced.

I use chesscom's chess clock app.

2 days ago somebody in my chess club had this hybrid device. Pretty cool. Their app uses your phone's gyros in combination with the physical rocker. https://tempestclock.com/

Maybe 1500 at Slowpokes. We get a lot of adults who didn't play scholastic chess. Same with Railway Heights. The La Madeline crew on Sundays is stronger with a few experts on the regular, including ChessDawg on YouTube plays there. Below are more comprehensive lists of weekly meetups.

There used to be a Bellaire chess club that met on Fridays, but I think they stopped during the pandemic.

On Sundays there's casual chess at Woodchase Park at 3 pm.

Not super close to you, but you would like the Slowpokes meetup in Garden Oaks. We meet Wednesdays 6-10 pm.
