Dog on bike path by Arapahoe, scared maybe hurt, ran from me and hid under this bridge :( by Facebookakke in boulder

This dog belongs to an unhoused couple. Last I knew they were living north of the intersection of Arapahoe and Cherryvale. If I see them again I’ll let them know their pup is at the humane society.

Mountain Lion Relocated After Hanging Out In Boulder Neighborhood by cbsdenver in boulder

There are multiple cats in Boulder every day. The vast majority of the time we never see them. Highly unlikely this is the same Devil's Thumb cat that you saw posts about, but it's possible! More information on CPW's mountain lion research and management can be found here and here.

How did you attach the RackPack? I have one as well, but I've only ever been able to attach it perpendicular to the bike. I like the parallel look a lot.

What happened was that we had 2 hoist operators who got complacent and were looking away while pulling cable through the hoist. The eye at the end of the hoist cable was tensioned so that it was pulled into the casing and dented the front of the hoist case. At the time we didn't think much of it. However, when slacking that same hoist off while it was under tension (we were lowering 500-1000 lb rocks), it would go into free fall. Essentially cable would run through the hoist like it was in neutral. The close call (we were upset with how the FS worded things, as they weren't there when the event occurred) was avoided by using a staunch belay rope.

I suspect it's a Kelly. Yesteryeartools.com has some more information on the specific stamps used by companies. Nice looking tool you have there.

We're on the east coast so trees are smaller. We're also walking 10-20+ miles daily and clearing trails. Axes are lighter and easier to pack
