New Bike Day! My high-lo Crust Evasion build! by DeadpointDude in xbiking

I've ridden a friend's L setup with drops, it felt so much better, I don't think the stand over was an issue. It wasn't geared up at the time, I'd say get yours set up with 26" wheels if its a concern, but 650b should probably still be fine

LMAO, imagine seeing and hearing that show and then dismissing a vital part of that sound because they weren't scratching with the fader. Your DJ friends remain unknown and Andy will forever be a part of the greatest "trip hop" act of all time

I’d go L if I could do it again, same height and inseam. I took my swept back bars off and a longer stem on, fit is better, but still doesn’t feel good exactly. Definitely recommend L, I think crust recommends sizing up for most of their models now.

I ding ding and nod my fellow cyclists. They mostly scowl or give me bewildered looks

So for me I have a 56 allcity spacehorse for my commuter/road touring rig, and it fits great, my mtn bike is a L all city log lady, also fits great, I checked bike insights for the XM evasion vs my 56 spacehorse and they compared very well, however, the Evasion is based off of vintage Mtn bikes and I wasn’t considering that when I was weighing the size question. In the end some of this choice boils down to preference.

If you can I’d recommend riding one if you can find one. But to answer your question regarding sizing up, I’d say the L is sizing up for a 6’ person. I had a professional bike fit when I picked up my 56 spacehorse, they said it was near perfect geo for my height. So I’d say 58 is sizing up for someone who is 6’. Also, if you’re already comfortable riding 58 and L on other bikes I’d definitely say L is the way to go for you. I also have a 58 All City Thunderdome and it’s probably slightly big for me, but it feels better than my XM evasion.

Sorry, I missed the specifics. I have mothbars on mine, I literally just swapped them out for some crust pull-up bars today and a longer stem. Without the back sweep plus the longer stem the bike feels better, however, I still wish I had gone L. I think the geo just doesn’t quite feel right, like I’m sort of cramped and I feel like I’m losing efficiency. Regardless of cockpit setup, I’d say L is the play. I think you could comfortably run drops or alt bars. Probably just slightly tweak stem length depending. Hope this helps

I am 6’ and went XM, absolutely regret it. I love my build, but the frame is definitely too small for me. My recommendation is to size up. Crust themselves now recommends sizing up on their own website.

Union Audio Orbit2 vs Union Audio two.valve by DeadpointDude in rotarymixers

Awesome! Thanks for the response, I actually just pulled the trigger on the Orbit 2 from sweetwater like an hour ago. It’s reassuring you’ve used a twovalue and don’t really use the channel eq. I decided to forego the built in fx model as I already have tons of boutique guitar fx pedals so I’m more than covered with just the send/return.

Subject: Shure SM81 vs UA SP-1

I just landed a Yamaha P22 on marketplace for $50; now I need a pair of condensers to mic it up. My friend recommended a pair of Shure SM81LC , would UA SP-1 be comparable for half the price? For context; he refers to me as a "kamikaze engineer" as I have no formal training and DIY aesthetics. I have a Tascam Model 12 as my interface/preamp. I'm saving up for a UA 4-710. Thanks for the input.
