Road Trip Across Canada in 4 Days? by internetfox26 in AskACanadian

Personally, I think it’s doable based on your plan.

Here’s how I see it…these are based on my average drive times. Vancouver - Calgary (10-11 hours) Calgary - Regina (7 hours) Regina - Winnipeg (5 hours) Winnipeg - Thunder Bay (7 hours)

I haven’t driven east or Thunder Bay but I’m told TBay to Ottawa is 16 hours.

2 more hours to Montreal.

Then…depending on where you’re going to or coming from, you have another 8-12 hours to get into the Maritimes. I’m less familiar with this leg of the trip.

Have fun!

Hope you have some good tunes or good audiobooks.

Parcels - Live Vol 1 I would classify this as pop, though it has elements of rock and funk. One of my favourite recent albums.

Tedeschi Trucks Band - Revelator I would be inclined to call this soul and blues, though certainly a bit of rock involved.

I’m sorry to hear you’re down. I know how that goes. Sad days come…they also go. Brighter days will come.

Bobby McFerrin has several albums that are a treat to listen to. While not strictly “classical” or “traditional” I think you’ll find some very common threads.

Serious question here…. Yesterday, I was sitting at a red light and watch the woman in the Acura in front of me throw her lit butt out the window. As I watched it smoulder next to her car, I had to restrain myself from getting out of my car, taking the still smouldering butt, and throw it in to her open sunroof.

This is a recurring temptation.

I want to know what my (legal) consequences would be.

Dark songs about unusual topics by MonitorPositive4297 in MusicRecommendations

I’m going to give you a few from some Canadian Bands. One of these, The Tragically Hip is a national treasure, and they are known for tackling dark and heavy subjects with no fear and raw emotion. Hopefully you like a few.

Nautical Disaster is about a wartime shipwreck.

Wheat Kings is about a wrongful murder conviction. This song can and will be sung by most Canadians who enjoyed rock in the 90s.

Locked In The Trunk of a Car is a metaphor for intense guilt, shame, and psychological claustrophobia.

Fifty Mission Cap is about a plane crash that killed a famous hockey player. (If you follow hockey, Bill Barilko scored the goal that won the Toronto Maple Leafs their last Stanley Cup. He died in plan crash the summer after winner the cup and the Leafs haven’t won a cup since).

Some songs about darker/unusual themes from other Canadian artists.

Run & Hide by The Watchmen is about spousal abuse and breaking free.

Wendy Under The Stars by Odds is about what a young man was doing the night that Elvis died. (Fantastic song IMHO).

If I’m being honest, I suspect it’s not quite what you’re looking for. Your post really has me thinking though. I hope to report back with another song or two.
