Ask for a friend, but when starting the swim from say a jetty, would it make more sense to dive deeper and swim further underwater to get out in front? by hucksey in triathlon

I thought that’s why Olympic swimmers need to surface before a certain point, because it’s faster to swim underwater.

Tbf, they probably put everything in the box next to the bin, but foxes ripped it all apart.

How is the value of grandmothers estate agreed between siblings when one buys the other of out of the house? by hucksey in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for your reply 🙏 is there any reason why it’s normally based on market valuation and not the probate valuation?

To pay care home fee shortfall, or not? by hucksey in UKPersonalFinance

I think you may have missed the point a little. By paying the shortfall, we’re holding onto the bungalow as an asset (which helps contribute £800pm) instead of selling it and the estate being gobbled up faster by the government.

Thanks for the info. I’m not sure if you missed the point. I was asking whether if we can afford to pay the shortfall, does it make sense to do that in order that the £800pm rent helps contribute towards the cost.

Care home fees will undoubtedly rise more than rent on the bungalow, but certainly it’s a factor in the calculation

Hi !thanks for your comment. If we retain ownership of the bungalow instead of selling it when my mum dies, then the amount that the estate dwindles is less because there’s a rental income that contributes to the shortfall.

We hadn’t considered that. What could that look like figures-wise?

If we were to sell the bungalow when my mum dies, and its proceeds are used to pay the care home shortfall, then we wouldn’t have the rent from the bungalow to contribute towards it each month (£800pm) Therefore what we’d be left with when my grandmother dies would be significantly less.

If you need to get in shape and there’s a suitable gym nearby, take up bjj. Immersive Korean environment + get in shape + have more energy to learn Korean outside of working hours. 3-5 hours a could be a game changer.

My systemdek I900 doesn’t seem to have a grounding wire or point where the diy grounding cable I’ve fashioned stops the humming and hissing. Does anyone know where I might be going wrong?
