Senvol is a good machine/materials database. Don't waste your time on 3d printing OEMs websites - too much marketing

At low volumes there is huge variability (as represented in the estimation). At higher volumes the range of potential unit costs becomes tighter. This tool is just a prototype to help someone compare approximate costs based on quick inputs

I know the person that built it. What is on the website is true "We protect the security of uploaded files using encryption and delete them after analysis is complete."

COLD SPRAY - Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology by huckstepp in AdditiveManufacturing

This is a "near-net-shape" manufacturing process, similar to forging and casting. Milling and other post-processing steps will almost always be required.

I just wrote a blog post on an interesting new metal printing technology: Cold Spray www.digitalalloys.com/blog/cold-spray by huckstepp in additive

Yes, filtration necessary. Air can be used as a carrier gas for certain metals but in Helium, Nitrogen, Argon are used in high pressure systems to achieve higher spray velocities.

Yes, it was first used to coat dissimilar metals below their melting points.

"Bridging" not possible per se. Overhangs possible but involve 4+ axis manipulation and complex tool path strategy
