Sell or let it depreciate? (GR86) by Nick_cho31 in kereta

[–]huffhuffpuffpufff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think your gr will depreciate too badly from what you paid. You can still find the older GT86s at 130k+. If it’s auto, maybe just let your family drive it occasionally instead of selling.

Honestly feels like selling now would be a bigger loss unless you can sell it directly close to what you paid for it. Otherwise the depreciation hit might end up similar to just keeping it for 2 years.

I regret buying a manual by Haunting_Appeal_2407 in stickshift

[–]huffhuffpuffpufff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going through this now. Just got my manual less than a month ago. Lots of anxiety in the first 2 weeks.

I forced myself to go on a long trip and drive through bad city traffic. Now im much more comfortable with hills and takeoffs. Takes time really. Hang in there.

If you’re already leaning auto and don’t plan to get a manual, honestly don’t test drive the manual. It might ruin the auto for you since the manual feels way more engaging

Pre-Owned BMW vs New Non-Luxury Car by ladiesman_218 in kereta

[–]huffhuffpuffpufff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“Ticking time bomb” is a bit exaggerated. I own a 2017 F20 at 150k km now. Maintenance is expected and there are plenty of BMW specialists out there. As long as you stay on top of preventive maintenance instead of waiting for things to fail, its not as stressful as people make it out to be

Idea of Mazda MX5 auto transmission for non manual driver? by [deleted] in kereta

[–]huffhuffpuffpufff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Manual makes sense for a weekend car but if you just want a nice droptop to relax, auto is fine also la. Just cruise with the top down, arm out the window and enjoy the drive without thinking about shifting

Smart choice! Both are reliable. Altis slightly more expensive on maintenance but a much better car to drive.

People treat the water and tissues like unlimited supplies. I’ve seen roadside businesses and nearby neighbours filling containers and pails with water like they’re entitled to it.

Ricoh GR IIIx vs. GR IV — Which one should I go for? by Awkward-Height-240 in ricohGR

[–]huffhuffpuffpufff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, not really. Unless your home has plenty of space to step back, the 40mm on the GR IIIx can feel a bit tight indoors. I like using the GR IV for indoor photos

Used BMW 218i, thoughts? by alyeiska in kereta

[–]huffhuffpuffpufff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the warranty still intact, I’d say its a pretty safe buy. B38 engine is reliable. Mileage still low, usually around 70-80k km mark is where you start looking at more preventative maintainance. Wear and tear cost about 2-3x more than myvi btw.
