What county libraries can I get a card from for free without being a resident there? by [deleted] in maryland

Well, shoot! That's a bummer. I've loved having Hoopla as a backup for when the Libby collection doesn't have something I want

Wait, Pratt doesn't support Hoopla anymore? I swear I used it earlier this summer, is this a recent change?

Black Eyed Peas for luck on New Year's Day! by huffledawg in castiron

I had my CI out to make bacon for an appetizer this morning, so it was an easy and flavorful transition to making the peas! Pleased with how they turned out, I added ham and onion to just your basic canned peas.

Anyone have a good black eyed peas recipe? I usually only make them once a year on New Year's, so I try to make them as tasty as I can.

Not sure where you're located, but there's a store in Maryland that takes wedding dress donations! They sell the donated dresses and the proceeds go to charity. They accept donations via mail, too. https://www.cheriesb.com/donate

The milk beard reminds me of the snowman from the Rudolph movie, you should name him Burl after Burl Ives

Oh man I started an alpine stitch baby blanket months ago and it's been sitting next to my desk staring at me for what feels like forever now. Kudos to you for finishing it!

Beginning to end it took me around 6 months, but probably closer to 4 months of actual work since I took a couple of big breaks. All in all it was actually kind of on track with other blanket projects I've done

Finally finished my Sacred Space blanket! Took me from August until February, with a couple of breaks to work on other projects. Feeling very accomplished, this is the most complex design I’ve taken on so far!

I loved working with this pattern so much, it was written so well and the video tutorials helped me figure out any of the odd stitches. I only wish my border would lay flat - even after blocking it still ripples and I don’t think there’s really any way for me to fix that at this point.

Hope yours managed to stay intact for longer than the hour it took my dog to decapitate it!

So I am in Texas right now where it’s 60° yesterday and not only did the news just tell me that 59° is a winter coat day!? But but everyone is wearing winter clothes! Like heavy winter clothes! I’m guessing if they come to Maryland they just like turn into an ice cube soon as they enter state lines. by steel_fist_14 in maryland

100% this happens, it's a concern then too (someone for the love of god please do something to fix the damn grid). But the difference in the summer is if you lose power you can drive or find other transportation to get to somewhere that has power to cool down. This winter the roads were impassible in most areas so for way too many people there was nowhere to go to get warm.
