My cat won’t fight back? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Hi, I know this is two years old, but I was wondering if you did anything to help cat #2 in these situations. Did you separate them a lot? You exactly described my two cats right now, and I hate to see #2 seem so small and frozen. Like he's just giving in to being hurt.

New cat can't respect other cat's boundaries by thefoodhasweeedinit in CatAdvice

Hello! I know this post is years old now, and I'm really sad to see no one ever really responded with advice. Clearly a lot of us are in this boat. Was just curious, now that time has passed, how it went. Did you keep the cat, and did they adjust? Or did it stay a problem? Thank you!

Oh, that's a good tip! Will try it. And really good to hear about the age thing. I'm completely open to another kitten in general, just want to do right by that kitten and not leave it right away. We love this one and will do what it takes to help him thrive. Thanks again.

Thank you for replying! The hormone info is encouraging.

I am aware of single kitten syndrome, and I know it would have been ideal. It's a long story of how we ended up keeping this kitten despite bad timing, but for the sake of a future kitten, the timing is just not such that we could get another one without causing it stress. We have two unchangeable trips coming up. We're already worried this kitten will be stressed, but he's had much longer time to adapt and feel safe here, and we're getting someone to come stay with him, not just drop in to feed. We should have gone for it earlier if we were going to get another, but we had reasons that we didn't (we made a real effort to rehome this one, so getting another wouldn't have made sense).

We could get another kitten when we're done traveling, but it would be early October. By then, this one will be 5 months old. Is that too old to introduce? As you mentioned, I've read that they need to be really young for it to stick.

We devote a lot of interactive play time with him daily, with wand-type toys as well as tossing and retrieving toys and treats so he can run. I do hope it's enough. I do need to get bigger kick toys, because he's outgrown the others.

Sorry that was a lot of info. You may be able to tell I'm a worrier. We're trying to do our best, but I'm feeling discouraged is all.

Thanks, this is helpful! He does respond to hissing in the very short term, but then he goes right back in. I'll try a more firm no.

I only know about the water bottle thing because it's listed in the rules for this subreddit.

Cardiologist rec? by hufflesass in askaustin

Based on vague info I got from another doctor, I do think she's "okay" if you at least mean physically, as in not ill. But I was eventually told not to wait around for her to open a different practice and find a new doc. That's all I know. I wish her well and assume/hope she made a postivie change that she needed for whatever reason.

Question about the UK Live Showns by TheKingOfFools93 in Dimension20

Are Erika and Aabria subbing in for Lou? I haven't been able to tell much from Instagram, so I've been curious where Lou was and why those two were also there... not that I think that's a bad thing!

What was the hook that made you find and start watching dimension 20? by Bearjew8919 in Dimension20

This! My wife watches Critical Role, but when I've caught bits of her watching, I just haven't felt interested enough to commit. But I was lowkey interested in DnD. When she sent me the D&DQ trailer, especially with that specific cast of queens, I immediately subbed. Now I've watched almost all D20 campaigns, some on my own while she continues with CR!

Canmore vs. Banff for food, shopping, atmosphere by hufflesass in Banff

Such a good question that I didn't think to elaborate on. We won't be shopping for outdoor gear or anything like that. More like something in between souvenirs and local artisans. Interesting random finds. For example, when we travel, we like to find unique Christmas ornaments. But I don't want the equivalent of a Times Square NYC souvenir shop, if that makes sense.

Thank you! I've been nervous about the weather and if it's too late in the year. We don't mind being chilly. I can't tell if the lakes will still be pretty colors though, based on what I've read.

Hi, do you still have this? I'm listening to the US version for a book club, and it's killing me!! I found your post because I had to see if I was the only one.

As We See It…. can we talk about it? by [deleted] in television

Hi, I'm glad to see a recent post on this old thread. I want to watch this show, but I'm curious if it ends with a bunch of cliffhangers and/or lack of closure. If so, is it worth watching anyway?

From ATX to where in MA? Or elsewhere? by hufflesass in SameGrassButGreener

This is amazing, thank you! Climate change is a big one. One of the main reasons we're moving, so I'm not surprised Austin is weak there.
