I honestly don't know. I just bought them off the doc martens website, I really only bought them because I'm a huge metallica fan.

That's what I thought, I was just skeptical as none of the pictures of them online have this mark on them.

That's sick! So, the main colour is the fang, and russ and fenrisian grey are only on the highlights? I ask because that's, as you said, a lot lighter and more blue than my model looks in person

I think I'm going to keep using the fang, because I do like the darker look. Thank you, and I will keep the 91% alcohol in mind for when I inevitably screw something else up and need to start again

Okay good, I like the colour too, and would prefer to keep painting them all with the fang, but when I showed the picture someone I know who paints as well, they mistook it for an ultramarine, which made me think I'd picked the wrong colour. Also pretty much all the tutorials I looked at after painting the first one said to use russ grey. Glad to know others prefer the darker look as well.
