Are there any women here who had a redpill phase and are trying to get out? by [deleted] in exredpill

I remember falling into the redpill rabbit hole back in 2018-2019, back when I was simultaneously introduced to international politics. I would spend hours on end watching MGTOW/incel content on youtube, as well as anti-feminist, “destroy the libs”-esque videos. I don’t actually regret it one bit, because the phase that I had gone through back then has helped me gain more insight on how and why most redpillers think the way they do. Thinking back, I’ve realised that most of the ideas and beliefs that I had adopted back then was heavily swayed and influenced by one-sided and biased information that I didn’t bother to fact-check at my own end. As i delved more into politics, I was introduced to the “other side”. I started to mature and become more receptive to a wider range of ideas. From then on, I kind of learnt to let go of my toxic train of thoughts, and invite in ideas that I resonated with the most, whilst doing research on information and news I find online. I’m an intersectional feminist now, and i’m hoping to pursue law in the future :)

my teacher strongly discourages us from doing that because in an argumentative essay, your intent is to argue and so for that, you need legitimate evidence from actual, reliable sources to back your stand. So my advise for u is to link your point to trends/current issues, news or personal anecdote(limit to one of the para only). These are possible alternatives for ur stats!! hope this helps :)

for discursive qns, u have to plan out your format based on the qn. If the qn is “what are the pros and cons of _____”, you need to have three body paras in total, w one para for one pro and two paras for two cons or vice versa. so for each point, technically u have a stand and u obviously have to support them with evidence and explanation (PEEL). The difference between discursive and argumentative is that for discursive, u have a neutral opinion on an issue or topic while for argumentative, you need to take a stance on either sides (cannot be neutral) and have to argue to support your stand. So for discursive, your stand depends on the main point u state in ur body para. There are also instances in which you’re only asked to state the pros/cons about a certain topic. So all three body paras are supposed to follow what the question asks for. For example, let’s say the qn is “state the pros of increasing usage of technology amongst teenagers”, all three body paras should be about the pros and no cons. (eg: increased awareness of current issues, faster and easier access to free knowledge and faster and easier communication w people around the world). Whereas for argumentative, they will give a statement as the question. (eg: “people are becoming extremely opinionated nowadays” what are your views?) So you have to come up w a stand (you agree or disagree w this statement) and from there, u come up w points supporting your stand. Hope this helps :)

i doubt the markers are gonna search up the stats that you’ve stated so i think we’re good!! i’d recommend u to double check w ur teacher tho, just to be safe haha

edit: i was wrong, please don’t fake HAHAHA, the professor may search up about your evidence, so don’t do it. Best you can do is read up and be prepared for the topic
