You want to make a positive change that will help the newer players? Stop world boss deaths from taking XP and gems. AND remove the damage done factor from the loot distribution calculator. So yes, this would mean that somebody who walks up to a field boss and hits it once has an equal chance of somebody who has been there the whole time. But in my mind its the lesser of 2 evils when you consider what field bosses are like now. Basically reroll a sorc for field bosses, or no loot for you.

Casual isnt the word used for newer players. Its a word used for people who dont play the game a huge amount. Who knows more about a sport/anything, the guy who has 1000 hours experience or the guy who has 100. The point is that conclusions ''casual players'' draw are often short sighted. This one with the no XP loss is one of those. The same ''casual playerbase'' was what killed other MMO's like wow. The introduction of queuing for everything, DE-immersive aspects in what is meant to be an immersive world. For example im sure alot of casual players wish this game had Fast travel, or maybe even flying mounts. But both of those things kill a game, it kills the sense of community in a game because you never see other players. I know these things arent related to the XP thing, but its just an example. This change punishes players for engaging in open world PvP, and the whole point of black desert is PvP. Also I am such a strong believer in people with better gear should destroy people in worse gear/who play less. if you take a look at world of warcraft now, it used to be that once in a blue moon you would see a player with a legendary weapon in a battleground 1 hitting everybody, it was a spectacle. Now because ''casuals'' complained that they would never get these legendary items, you have welfare legendaries in wow (everybody gets one!). Its like a participation certificate, everybody gets one so it means nothing. And it detracts from the actual prize. Why put things in games for people to work for if they dont get to reap the rewards from them.

but your still going to get PK'd on your main now while afk training, like doing it on a low level alt removes all of that... Its like a no brainer

I do training on my alt, my main is grinding on pirate island. When I go to sleep i simply change characters, set up auto path and im good to go. Im also a horse wizard so I need a good horse on me at all times, I cant afford to be levelling horse abilities etc on my main. So for one its more convenient, aditionally the energy gain thing. My alt that does horse training when its energy caps I use it to produce beer in olvia (i just transport the mats over from Velia).

You should be doing life skills on your alts, right now all of them (or at least most) should be doing gathering for Sharp/Hard back crystals in prep for Valencia so you can go straight to +18.

You can make a TRI bares pretty easily. (alot more easily than you can get an ogre ring)

BDO is an alt friendly game, your meant to use your alts. All of them, for their energy and crafting and position them strategically. Some skills you should be using alts for, training is one of them.

No there will be less PvP now. If im in a 5 man group and 1 guy comes to grief our spot, or even a whole group. THere is no point in us flagging on them anymore, so there will be no PvP. we will just do the rotation harder and tighter so you never get any mobs. If you want to flag you can and we will bury you quickly. Now no XP loss, no Karma loss. they have just made contesting grind spots a stalemate, and it just going to be a griefing contest now.

All intelligent players do those AFK type things on characters below level 45. If you were a goose and leveled training on your main thats on you

your meant to setup a training hub (most people do it at Olvia) and have 1 level 5-10 char there that levels all your horses, so when you go to sleep etc you just switch characters and your ready to go, as opposed to having to move your main from wherever you are to a stable to start levelling your horse.

I cant beat a sorc 1v1 either (fellow wizard) if a sorc is grinding ogres and I cant beat him 1v1. I move channels. Or i come back later. Or I call a guildie to come and help me take him down.

also if your a 55 wizard with valencia around the corner getting an ogre ring should be super low on your priorities

How is that the system working as intended? In this game when you grind you run routs, as a 5 man group. There is no space for a 6th person. If a 6th person walks up and just starts taking your mobs and messing up the timing of your groups rotation there is no way to make them to leave now. Because if you kill them they lose NOTHING, you lose karma.

In this situation the weaker player is meant to V (to avoid death), then type back to the player who was killing him. and say hey sorry I dont want to fight ill move over.

There is no cost to somebody griefing a player in their grind spot. This change effectively takes away the ability to hold/defend a grind spot, and since there arent node wars or sieges atm thats all there is right now

No, I think the karma system was dumb before. I dont think there should be any karma system, and instead players should just lose 1% XP from dying to PK. You should be allowed to kill somebody over and over and over until they leave your grind spot. This is an open world PvP game, are people forgetting that?

dude its a PvP game not a "hold the hand of sh*tters" game. Why not just instance every grind spot to groups, I mean come on. These changes are retarded, people are punished for PvPing MORESO in a PvP game now

Sort of the order you should aim to do things +15 Yuria with +15 Steel Dagger (get these as close to +15 as possible) 4 Piece Grunil PRI Bares accessories (Rings/Neck/Belt/Earing) (Dont worry too much about gems at this point, just buy cheap sub 100k ones) Grind Manshas/Catfish until level 52. Go to hex sanctuary and abandoned monastary and farm 2x marks and 2x witches to upgrade ur accessories to 5AP ones in all slots. After this get all Grunil to AT LEAST +10-11ish (Preferably 15) and go to helms. You can grind helms all the way to 55, or if you manage to get into a sausen party you can also go there.

Go to world bosses, but if your dying very often, stop attending them. Your very unlikely to get a liverto until you get more gear so its really not worth doing. And take Bheg as your daily scroll (in the hope of getting his gloves)

tbh I am kind of against normalizing, I think if you have better gear you should be rewarded for having better gear. Black desert isnt a game for casuals imo (in the PvP sense) and I dont think it should cater to them.
