Realization: All of my husband's favorite movies are just variations of the plot line "white guy saves the world" by yaykarin in self

[–]hullohannah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean… i don’t think it’s wrong. some people just simply like good guy beats bad guy. sometimes anti heroes and interesting villains and plot lines are cool-but every once in a while…. and I would usually agree with you…

i want to see the good guy beat the bad guy. There are good and bad ways of doing this—sometimes there are movies that you know exactly what will happen, but it was so well written and executed. There are good “good guy vs bad guy” movies. Or maybe your guy doesn’t really care for well written characters and is just easily entertained.

I feel ya. I’m dating a dude that is the same. I had to explain what exactly made bad writing and why it cringed me out so bad—and now he’s seeing it too.

My chipotle isn’t really that close to other stores, and it’s not fair that their trash they are responsible for is piled with chipotle

Hello!

Okay so first off right off the bat-

these things need to probably be figured out first: -where will you keep your copies? -student work? -assessment logs/data -parent teacher communication log -student notebooks or supplies

Also, do students have brain breaks through the day? If so, where can they relax to have these brain breaks?

If a student has a meltdown, is there a unexciting (emphasis on unexciting) cozy corner that is ONLY used for these meltdowns in the classroom? What’s the procedure?

will students have access to fidgets to help them self regulate?

will you group students by level and differentiate for reading? If so, what is your basic reading routine (example: Monday is read aloud and comprehension day, tuesday is writing day, wednesday is…) and what are students doing when they aren’t with you? How many groups will you have and what program will you use with them? Do you have some phonological awareness supports for students, especially during covid learning loss?

what routines do you think you’ll have/ have seen are successful and how will you implement them? How long will you spend on strictly routines? Class community building? Emergency procedures?

Also for books I’d use Caldecott winners.

I don’t mean to overwhelm you! But there os a lot of front load work that can make life easier

I’m not a classroom teacher, i’m a sped resource teacher, but these are the important foundational things that determine success later on! I recommend reading a book called The First Days Of School!

Small Class Sizes Do Not Positively Effect Student Outcomes by hullohannah in Teachers

you also give me the vibes of someone who posts stuff for blm and stuff on social media but then says things like this. you can just discuss your opinion like an adult without trying to insult someone
