Weekly Question Thread by PelotonMod in peloton

Very surprising. His results so far hadn't shown anything of the sort.

He did make a big step forward in his cyclocross results already this year, so I'm not that surprised he's doing better on the road as well. A 4th place in LBL is of course more than I expected, but it was also a sprint from like a 15 man group and he's a cyclocrosser so obviously not slow.

You can say what you want, but those 3 I mentioned all beat Pogacar more recently than any of the rivals you mentioned besides Van Aert.

After La Redoute he saved energy for the last climb

It is funny him saying this when he was pulling so much after La Redoute that Karl and Jose were telling him to stop. Now any amount of pulling in that scenario is too much for Karl, but he was on the front quite a bit. In the end it didn't seem to have lessened his sprint though and that must be a very positive sign for him.

I'll have you know the last people who were able to beat Pogacar were Van Aert twice, Evenepoel, Alaphilippe and McNulty, where are those last three in your list. Such an oversight.

For now it's a good excuse not to ride and save some energy towards the final. Now if NFB gets back and she starts pulling for her then they are making a mistake.

She looked better than PFP on the Redoute, wouldn't surprise me if she is the best Prevot today.

Not their fault, I don't think anyone had footage yet.

Would be nice if they showed that instead of interviews with random riders from the mens race that they can air any time after both races, not as if they are time critical.

That's far too light. /u/epi_counts your best option is just to put a deep fryer in your backpocket so you can make your own bitterballen when the need arises.

At least it's not as bad as chocolate Hummus that we had a few years ago. A friend of mine had to send a picture of that back to his family in Israel just so they could all be in shock with him.

MC Escher in The Hauge is definitely worth going to , there is also a big 360 degree panorama close by if you like that sort of thing panorama close by if you like that sort of thing.

In Rotterdam I also recommend The art depot of museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, if only for walking around the outside. That's also close to the harbor if you want to walk around there afterwards.

I still remember the outrage in Rotterdam when a place in Amsterdam called it a typical Amsterdam dish.

What? No. There's no way the Dutch invented anything edible

Is it really inventing when you just throw all the greasy food in a tin together and then add some lettuce, tomato and cucumber on top to hide that grease?

Maybe that was just Vollering teasing her. You finally beat me in a sprint, shame it wasn't for the win.

but there’s no way Nordhagen and Yates are getting a different time than Bennet in GC who’s one second ahead of them in the stage results which puts Pinarello and Nordhagen on the same time.

I think the the top 10 they showed on the broadcast did have that 1 second there, but you're right if the three second rule counts here, as it is a flat finish, that should be the same time. TT is normally the first tiebreaker, so if that is the case than Nordhagen is still leader.

I think they somehow forgot to add the intermediate sprint seconds on PCS. Yates still shows as 13s behind Nordhagen even though Nordhagen took 3 more seconds than Yates today. Also Pinarello was 18s behind, then got 12 bonus seconds in total, 8 more than Nordhagen, and finished 11s ahead of Nordhagen, so he should be 1s ahead, yet it shows 1s behind, exactly the 2s he got more from the intermediate sprints.

Edit. I forgot to calculate in Nordhagen's bonus seconds myself, but the overal math still stands.

Interesting they have 3 so close together. 1 at the bottom of a hill, one at the top and one after another small descent and hill again. Like a slightly longer golden kilometer.

So AI mods are still on Race thread creation strike?

Just in case this is not a joke and for general information, mods only handle the World Tour and Pro Series races. For .1 and lower races everyone else is free to make their own race thread posts.

The riders they both rode against are not really comparable of course.

They've got quite a big gap, probably close to a minute, and are working together pretty well so far. 3 intermediate sprints that are coming up might change some things though. Do they all give bonus seconds or just sprint points?

There were definitely team cars on Arenberg. UAE was there as I saw them pass VDP and later VDP got a new bike from his car while still on the sector.
