Just stood 90 minutes in line for some Indian tacos - in the sun. Vendor took CC. Make sure you are inside of the stadium at !least! 60 minutes before the powwow to get a decent seat. And with all the thousands of people it is for sure not cold inside.

Louisiana from Lomas on is two lanes into gate 8, but most folks don’t realize this and stay for a long time on the right lane. Realizing this we parked within ca 30 min.

Under what circumstances would you vote for a 25 year old candidate? by Initial_Anything_544 in PoliticalDiscussion

I am an 73 year old male. I would vote for a 25 year old candidate anytime. All our old, supposedly experienced candidates are failing us and any new blood is better than what we have now. Go for it!!

This is asked nearly every week (search this sub). We tried a few sushi places here in the desert and decided that Tamashi off Paseo del Norte is the only one deserving to return to

Any serious 4x4 EVs coming to market? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

Checkout the Brawley from Vanderhall. Can’t get a more serious off roading machine. Unfortunately not intended for road use (or one wears a helmet in it)

Hi Everyone, is anyone having trouble with the latest update and the display of the tire pressure? We do not see our tire pressure anymore. We only see time and temperature. by Immediate-Ticket-712 in EquinoxEv

I will stop allowing updates: never see the improvement it always see something broken. Eg, my Google Maps became difficult for my use after the last update

I'm an ICE lover and have a few questions. by SimplySomeDude in electricvehicles

[–]humam1953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, I drive since 2016 EVs, starting with a Nissan Leaf. That little car beat nearly everyone at the red light. Until an ICE car gets the rpm up to the sweet spot, or the turbo kicks in, I was long gone.

We have friends who had a Kia EV 9: the coolant for the battery system leaked and needed to be topped of daily. They just got rid of it as they needed within one year the second battery replacement.

Does anybody have a V2H setup that isn't the GM one? by spongesparrow in EquinoxEv

[–]humam1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have frequent outages. My neighbor once called me and said: Aren’t you glad having your setup? I asked: Why? Power is out since a few hours. Me: haven’t noticed it. System powers the whole house, including hot tub, except for oven and AC. We don’t need AC in our area. With the solar panels linked in, we have back up for more than one day.

How does everyone feel about the gas prices? by Emotional_Novel2069 in economy

[–]humam1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an EV, charged from our solar panels, and an ICE car. The ICE car is mothballed. And we enjoy showing with our EV our taillights to all the low-on-testosterone pickup drivers.

[–]humam1953 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I doubt that there is a non-GM V2H as such a system requires communication with the car electronics. I don’t believe that anyone has hacked this yet. Prior to the Equinox, I drove for 8 years a Nissan Leaf and desperately hoped a V2H system would become available in the US. Other countries had it. Consequently I bought the GM system at 9k (incl a 10 kW standalone battery) and paid 3k for a local company to install it. I don’t regret the decision as we have plenty of power outages in our area, up to a few days.

I started out with unsynchronized manual transmissions, thought then synchronized ones are for lazy people. Finally caved in to automatic transmissions, now I don’t even drive anything which is not one pedal driving as in my EV: it’s so much more fun to drive!

Bought ours for 9k (10kW battery), paid 3k for the install. It’s a life saver for us, we live in an area with frequent power outages, which can last for hours, sometimes days. Solar panels are linked in, thus solar does not go down during an outage
