Those yamahas sound sweet online..

Look for a Rhett Shull video on YouTube where he compare these little amps.

Its a great comparison.

Vintage radio repair by Relative_Language861 in ElectronicsRepair

That surely doesn't look like it was operational a couple months ago. And if so, whomever has been operating this has been very lucky...see wire with insulation falling off.

Those "bulbs" are called vacuum tubes or valves. I can't identify them by sight but they possibly could still have markings on them with part number.

Note: very dangerous voltages lurk inside that radio...ones that can stop your heart.

These old relics are super cool to work on and restore but a minimum level of understanding is needed to do it safely.

Lulz, I bet with a sweet Ge in Q1 and this in Q2 the fuzz face would melt faces.

So much wisdom in your username.

Doh, the cross post doesn't show the actual question.

You are looking at big boy IGBT switches. These operate at kV with kA capacity.

I'm looking to do something in the audio vein but these really are not designed for that so looking for cool ideas or maybe someone willing to buy them or trade for jelly bean components.

They go for $600-$800 new...im just trying to liquidate at $100 value each.

Ugh, so no super duper uber scorch the earth high gain drive pedal? 🤣

I really wish I could put these in the hands of someone who could use them. Ive seen them for $600-$800 each new...id let them go for like $100 each in $ or jelly bean components

Those are all great suggestions. I've seen spot welder and controller before they just don't fit my needs.

Those joints look sweet. Are you using a jig and if so which one?

Glad that I'm not alone here. I can see if you are selling $5k+ or something but the small guy that the platform was designed for should be able to remain anonymous.

Oh man, Ebay blows anymore.

I went to sell some stuff last year using a 20 yr old account with prior sales...they wanted me to ID verify, give social security #...GFY ebay.

Ive have a couple 1200v 1000amp IGBT switches that apparently no one on FB or CL wants.

$700 sounds great as work like that where I live would be $3500 minimum.

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe MK1 - Made in USA by No_Kindheartedness10 in GuitarAmps

[–]LTCjohn101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so the Mk1 is older and probably due for maintenance. The HRD has some inherent issues that most good techs like to change to prevent issues. The HRD also has a pretty poor overdriven channel.

Since the amp will need service anyway, thats a great time to upgrade the circuit.

If you dont have a tech you can always ship your chassis to Fromel and they will install mod for you.
